Hey guys I used to post here alot but havent been around for a while. Im having a bit of a problem hopefully someone here can help. I did P90X 4 times last year and a month of Insanity, then I fell off the wagon. I got in a relationship got lazy and gained that happy weight. I started P90X again this year May 16th. Im on week 8 now and my weight loss has been crawling very slowly. I've lost 8lbs and close to 15inches which is great but it doesnt seem like enough to someone who has 50lbs to lose. I dont follow the nutrition plan it doesnt work for me, my body doesnt do well on a low carb diet I literally have no energy when I limit my carbs and I cant afford it either. I do eat clean following the Abs Diet. I eat 6 meals a day. Typical day for me is Oatmeal with strawberries, blueberries, and walnuts for breakfast. Snack #1 is either low fat string cheese, hardboiled egg whites, protein shake, or a piece of fruit. Lunch is usually a pita pizza on a whole wheat pita with chicken and veggies and a small amount of low fat feta cheese. Snack #2 is almost always Shakeology with either Trop 50 OJ and frozen mango or almond milk and peanut butter. Dinner is usually grilled or baked chicken with veggies or some variation of Abs Diet Chili. Snack #3 is a Casein protein shake before bed made with water. Im doing Classic doubles version and have used Interval X+ and Kenpo Cardio + for some of the double routines. For the past 2 weeks my weight loss has stopped, inches arent coming off either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've read the abs diet book, the diet is very similiar to p90x plan, you have done great so far, so don't get frustrated, 15 inches is amazing, do you track your ratios and calories ?
I use livestrong.com, this in my opinion is a very important starting place, when questioning plateau. Also you have done this before you say 4 times, so you know that the last 30 days is where it really happens |

Thank you for responding. I dont track my calories and such daily. I keep a food journal and usually log into fitday.com at least once a week. My ratios are right when I log them usually around 40/40/30. I know the last 30 days is where the real magic happens but the first round I had the same starting weight and dropped 30lbs in the first month. This time its very very slow. About a lb a week.
I talked to a BB Coach about it tonight and she says she thinks Im in starvation mode and should stop doing doubles and do the lean program for the next month instead. Which doesnt sound right to me, but got me very confused, thats why I came here. |

40/40/30 ? Do you mean 40/40/20 ? , to give you the best advice, I really need to know your daily intake of calories, height and weight , also the people who have achieved the best results do classic

Looks very carb heavy and cals heavy....oatmeal, w fruit, cheese 2 x per day, pizza, OJ which has loads of sugar, chili, peanut butter AND a casein shake before bedtime??
Also, many people do shakeology as a meal replacement, not a snack. Also not sure what you mean when you say you've lost 15 inches in 3 weeks. Finally, losing 8 pounds in 8 weeks is healthy and normal, and something to be proud of, not question. I would do as Austin suggests and start tracking ratios and cals on livestrong. |

One final note to add, the P90X nutrition plan is not low carb. You go through the various phases to find out which one works for you and how your body responds. Because you've done multiple rounds of P90X there is no reason to go back to Phase 1 nutrition unless that is what you prefer and that is what worked. Otherwise if Phase 2 and 40/40/20 works better for you then stick with that.
No matter which Phase 1 you're in or which level you're at, it is critical to track your calories - as Austin and ST mentioned. Otherwise you really have no idea where you're at and if you're anything like me you will completely underestimate your calories if you don't track them. |
