Yep, complex carbs are good. It's the simple carbs that I avoid.
I followed nutritional guide ( for most part) and ate like Pauly did, so oatmeal was out. I love oatmeal and once I get to my desired weight, I will add it back. But for me, it puts on weight. That said, you had mentioned to me, you were eating 5-6 egg whites also with the oatmeal, so to me that sounded like alot. So my advise was to nix the oatmeal and cut back on egg whites a little. I am no expert, but it was only a suggestion as to what I would personally do. I have since upped my calories and am still losing weight, still avoiding all grains right now except for a wrap or 2 at lunch, like the ones Pauly eats ( low carb-high fiber). I feel great, lots of energy, and I eat TONS of veggies. Not everyone processes food the same way, some folks burn faster/slower. Oatmeal just seems to slow me down even though it is low on the gi index. Dunno why. Good luck to you, Do what YOU feel is best for your body as nobody noes it better than you. Hugs~Kate |

I personally don't eat oatmeal, but it looks like it's super nutritious for you. Yes it is high in carbs, but if you are watching what you eat and limit your carb percentages then sure, go ahead and eat oatmeal. Eating oatmeal while limiting your other carb inntakes will not make you fat.
