The nutrition guide suggests, as a snack, 1oz of almonds, 1oz of cashews, 1oz of pecans, 30 pistachios, or 4oz of soy nuts.

Hope this helps!

I didn't see pistachios in the guide. You sure about that? I thought Pistachios were one of the worst nuts for you.

You get (30) Pistashio nuts per day as a snack. I alternate, Soy Nuts (4oz.), Almonds, Pistas-any order you like. I measure out 1st thing in the morning while taking supplements, making a shake, breakfast whatever. Put in a zip lock bag or Tupperware. That is it for the day! Don't keep grazing on them, once your alottment is gone.

I recommend Sunflower seeds too. They are loaded with good stuff. You can get them at places like "WinCo" in the self service area, already shelled. Pure nuts!

You need to watch the nuts due to cal.s from fat. I believe. Same with cheese. These can crash your diet if you go overboard.

Also, I keep some nuts (almonds) and a protein bar in my vehicle, just in case. If you get tied up @ work-traffic etc., your feeling weak or losing your will (want to cheat). Bam! You have something to slam in your pie hole.

I figured out how many cups the nut allotment is... it worked out to be almost half a cup or so, so I just grab a scoop of them with a measuring cup and ziplock bag'em.

I drive an hour each way every day for school, and I chew sunflower seeds on the road. I picked up that habit a few years ago to keep me awake on long trips and it really works. If you're tired the process of shelling the seeds keeps you up. I just pop a small handful in my mouth and work on them with my teeth. I've got a cup I put the hulls into. Maybe too much salt...but they taste good.

HAHAHAHA!!! I love it!!

I make my own nut/granola/dried fruit mix and I LOVE it. Buy all the different kinds of nuts you like (low salt peanuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, soynuts, etc), I dry my own pineapple, buy some dried cranberries and some granola, pour it all in a big bowl and mix. Then I portion it out into those small snack ziplocks. I have found 1/4 cup is about 2 oz (weight and volume.)

It always amazes me how filling it is.

I love it.

Nuts are great! The hardest part is stopping eating. Personally, I have to make sure I ration them. I them one serving in a ziplock and only carry that to work with me. Otherwise I find myself eating more than I should. While they are a great nutritional source, too many can crank up the calories.
