Okay, I leave too early in the morning to fix egg white omelets so my solution was to keep boiled eggs in the fridge and bring them with me to work for breakfast. I'm staying on the phase 1 diet for my first round and have eaten just about all of the boiled egg whites that I can stand. Do any of you have options other than eggs for a quick, high protein breakfast? I may try making omelets the night before.

I make my eggs the night before and then just reheat in the microwave. Otherwise you might try a protein shake, or cottage cheese, those are always pretty quick to throw together. I can't live without my scrambled egg whites every morning, though, so I take a couple minutes the night before and get them ready.

A large protein and fruit shake.
Mine usually consists of 2 scoops of protein powder, a banana, another fruit (either strawberries, cherries, or blueberries), 220ML of milk, and a low-fat yoghurt, and maybe a small spoonfull of low-fat coco powder (depends on whether I'm using chocolate or neutral protein powder). Starting to become my favorite meal of the day. |

Protein shake or Greek Yogurt for me on weekdays that I'm on a time crunch. I save my omlettes for weekends and that way it's like a cheat but really isn't.
I did see where someone had once put on the internet that you could mix all the ingredients into a ziplok bag and put it in the microwave. I just don't feel comfortable doing that, seems like some of the plastic from the bag would contaminate the eggs |

I HIGHLY recommend the magic bullet. (It's a single serving size blender). Every morning I put in a cup of frozen blueberries, a couple heaping tablespoons of greek yogurt, a scoop of whey protein, and some 1% milk to help it liquify. Then throw it on the magic bullet, blend, and take the cup/container with you in the car and drink it on the way to work.

Here is my meal in the morning.......
I already have pre-cut/chopped tomatoes and onions sitting in the fridge so this save me a lot of time. I get 45 mins earlier than I used to, that's the only adjustment I have made. I whip 6 egg whites with the onions, tomatoes and a pinch of red chilli powder. Throw them on a non-stick pan to make a nice big omlette. I eat that with a protein shake (1 scoop protein powder,1/4 cup fat free milk and ice). It really fills me up. Start to finish time is around 30 mins to make this and eat it. Occasionally, I switch the protein shake with fage yogurt blended with berries, banana, etc. Once you get into it, it gets to be pretty fast. |
