So I started P90X today , chest, back, abs, and I was very dissappointed with myself. I'm 5 10 198 lbs and I couldn't do any pull ups. I hope I can improve on this later on.
Anyways I'm more worried about my meal plan because I'm a picky eater and I hate veggies. Anyways here's my meal plan so far Breakfast: Protein Shake w/ skim milk 8 0z Snack: Pure Protein Bar Lunch: Chicken , Swiss cheese, whole wheat pita (10g net carbs), lettuce Dinner: 4 egg whites, 1 egg, ground chicken, diced tomatoes Snack: Protein Shake w/ skim milk 8 oz. Not really too worried about losing a lot of weight would rather focus on building more muscle mass. I look to skinny when I lose weight. Anyways let me know what you guys think. Also should I keep trying to get better at pull ups or should I give in and get the bands. |

Don't kill yourself on not being able to do any pullups. If you keep working hard, the pullups will come. Try using a chair to do assisted pullups right now if you cannot do regular ones but still want to improve.
As for your diet, I think you're taking too many protein shakes/bars and not eating enough fruits or veggies. I personally don't think you need two protein shakes and a protein bar during the day; eat real healthy food instead. I would also eat the whole egg rather than just the egg whites. |

Thanks for the reply blakjak12.
I'll take your advice on the pullups and hopefully I'll get better at it. It's hard for me to prepare food since I work so many hours and go to school so the shake and protein bar saves me time. I will try to eat healthier foods, but I thought for the beginning of the program they mention not to eat too much fruit because of carbs. Anyways thanks for the advice I appreciate it. |

You are right about not eating much fruit for Phase I, but I would try to find some veggies that you enjoy eating as most of them are fairly low in carbs. Best of luck, and let us know if you have any further questions!
