You are probably not feeling hungry because your body has already gone into starvation mode. Im not a nutritionist or expert by any means but I have researched this a good bit. As others have said your body needs a certain amount of calories to work. I spoke with a nutritionist when I started the program because I felt that the amount of calories recomended was too much she told me never to go under 1200 calories a day because your body will go into starvation mode thus storing everything you eat as fat. Try to eat small meals throughout the day. Before I started dieting I was eating one large meal a day and gaining lots of weight, Ive started eating 6-7 times a day and am consistently losing 2-3lbs per week. Heres an example of my typical day:
Breakfast: Protein shake, 2 egg whites 1 whole egg and 1/8c reduced fat cheese 2 slices reduced sodium turkey bacon
AM Snack: Protein Bar
Lunch: Salad
PM Snack: Turkey Jerky
Dinner: 1c Pasta, 3oz Chicken, with 2T Organic Marinara Sauce and 1c Steamed veggies

Like I said I am by no means an expert so I dont know for sure if this is absoulutely correct but it has been working for me so far. Eating one meal a day will probably lead to a crash.

I appreciate the response. Too bad other people weren't as respectful as you.
Again, like I said earlier, this isn't a 'regular' thing I have done. It's just lately, I've been eating one meal a day so I came here to see if that would help to lose the gut or if it would hurt me. And everyone (except the one moron) has said politely that it's certainly not a smart thing to do.
I'll change my diet so I eat a few smaller meals a day. Hopefully that helps me in the long run.
Thanks!

Lahawks,

Taking that sensitive chip off your shoulder for a minute, please tell me what exactly was the part that offended you?

I told you to do research on your logic, which everyone thinks is stupid. I'm just the only one who came out and called it "stupid".

I explained that your body is probably, or will be very soon, in starvation mode because of your behavior.

Due to your reasoning and logic you presented here, I knew you'd think you have more understanding of the human body, so I invited you to research what I told you about your one meal turning straight into body fat.

Because of your attitude and gross information and lack of general knowledge and your seemingly unwillingness to actually listen to the advice that you, yourself, ask for I simply told you that you shouldn't do anything as far as exercise or hope to get rid of your stomach. (Read your reply to Pauly).

I then went on to use another example using the logic that you stated here to show you just how unreasonably unintelligent it actually is.

Then, yes...I made a sarcastic comment about your logic and reasoning, not about you personally, if you bothered to actually read what I wrote. I figured someone who asks a completely ridiculous question that is so far from reality deserves a little tough love. Frankly....I thought your post may have honestly been a joke.

I'm not one to sugar coat anything. I stand by my statements which are factual and by my opinion of your logic and reasoning. Since you probably cannot argue with the facts I can only assume your upset that a grown adult actually called your logic and reasoning of literally starving yourself... "stupid". I cannot and will not apologize for pointing out the silliness of your post. If the truth hurts you that much then it's time to put on your big boy underwear because I thought I was talking to an adult. Maybe I'm wrong...maybe a 25 year old is NOT an adult.

I have not attacked you personally nor have I called you any names, such as "moron" or "prick" like you did. While many questions on here are not stupid, your ideas of starving yourself and thinking for a split second are healthy and wise are in fact...stupid, but I did not call you stupid. If I did, by all means point that out to me and I'll immediately apologize for attacking you personally.

Before you ask, it's not wise to cut off your arms to help streamline your body to run faster either.

Don't forget to point out exactly what part of the truth in my other post that you have been offended by.

BTW....my personal opinions are definitely NOT "this whole website", as you've stated. You're being a tad bit overly dramatic, don't you think? Don't let one person's opinion of your starvation idea run you off. But....if you are that sensitive about having your ideas of a literal slow death being called stupid, then you may be in for a bumpy ride here.

If you are into that type of dieting google the term PSMF. Lyle Mcdonald has a book on how to successfully do starvation diets called " The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook".

www.bodyrecomposition.com/the-rapid-fat-loss-handbook

Lots of bodybuilders follow that exact approach....though you must know what you are doing. Fasting days must be altered with "refeeds" in order for this to be successful.

Again check out rapid fatloss hand book if you are so inclined to diet that way. You can lose a lot of fat in a short period of time....

Ohh but P90X will kill you on such a diet. Rapid fatloss handbook recommends very little exercise.

Good Luck

Dont feed the trolls. It just keeps them coming back. Five minutes of reading JUST this p90x nutrition part of the forum shows many many examples of how this is not healthy for p90x users. Dont fee the trolls.

One meal a day? What are you eating then, like 600 calories a day? While you probably won't gain weight, your body will go into starvation mode meaning that it will cling on to and store every piece of fat it can get its hands on. Plus you won't be giving it enough energy for the workouts, meaning that it will start to break down muscle for energy. P90X is a workout routine to build lean muscle and make you look ripped. Eating one meal a day would do the opposite of that. Sure you could do that, but then P90X is the wrong workout program for you.
