I need some help with quick and easy lunch ideas to bring to work. I'm starting in a week and trying to get the diet a bit easier to handle ahead of time. Thanks!

well if you have 1 carb serving and two protein servings availabe by lunch time. You can have 6 oz of chicken. with a cup of brown rice, and yes the brown rice is allowed. Or another quick lunch would be 6 thin slices of turkey, or 3 thick slices of turkey sandwich with 2 whole wheat bread, w/ some veggies!

Are deli meat that is pre-packaged good or bad? Obviously freshly cut meat is preferred, but I'm just curious as to whether I should avoid the pre-packaged ones or not.

Iahawks, that's a good question that I would like to hear others opinions on too. I've heard conflicting answers so far.

I'm definitely looking for something that I don't have to prepare a head of time. I'd like to save my carbs for either a breakfast of oatmeal or cereal or for dinner time. I'm trying to make sure my 8 year old daughter's diet is well balanced as well and while she gets plenty of carbs throughout the day, our typical meal will consist of a carb with dinner.

Here is my current pre-P90X meal plan:

Breakfast - Instant Apples & Cinnamon Oatmeal - lower sugar version, small glass of OJ....and I'm not giving up my 2 cups of coffee in the morning...I do use a non-dairy creamer, but no sugar.

Morning snack - grapes or some other type of fruit

Lunch - Lately it's been a bowl of frosted shredded wheat w/ skim milk but I enjoy sandwiches

Afternoon snack - a piece of fruit, some carrot sticks, or cottage cheese

Dinner - usually a meat, veggie, and some type of delicious carby starch

I love carbs and dairy so that will probably be the most difficult for me to change. Although at the same time, I don't have any weight to lose at 5'2" and 110lbs. Maybe a teeny bit of belly flab, but overall I'm in good shape. So would you recommend following the fat shredder diet? Or should I use one of the later phase diets?

It seems like you're getting a lot of sugar with all the fruit & sweetened cereals. You could have a big salad with some baked chicken & balsalmic vinegar as a dressing instead of the frosted shredded wheat.

I usually eat a turkey sandwich on orowheat high fiber bread, with mustard, a side of around 15-20 carrots (no dipping sauce!), and sometimes I'll add a cup of low-carb/fat yogurt or some kind of fruit like an apple, grapes, or strawberries, depending on the season
