Awesome, thanks for the advice guys! Yeah, that is a good strategy, keeping the party to one weekend night. I usually go out both nights but thats because the only people I know in baltimore are my roomate and his gf/friends. Thats what they usually do, I'd like to go to concerts and stuff so I'll probably do that the other weekend night and keep it easy on sodas and booze. I've never had a gin and tonic or diet coke and rum, I hafta to try them both. I'm hopin tom collins aren't that bad either. And after being overweight for 4 years wand watching my boys get all the women I'm defintley going to be keeping track of my appearance. Thanks guys! I'll be posting before pics in the next day or two.

I used to love beer and if out with friends it wasn't unusual for me to consume 8-10 in an evening. Not only did I love beer but I loved the heavy, dark ales. I never thought I would be able to stop drinking it and frankly I didn't want to stop. That changed for me when my friend, who is a dietician, pointed out to that on those evenings when I would slug back 8-10 pints that I was consuming as many carbs and calories as if I were to sit down and eat an entire loaf of white bread at one sitting. I don't know why but the image of eating an entire loaf of bread really disgusted me. It made it tangibly real for me how unhealthy it was and the damage I was doing to my body and my physique. I am unable to drink a beer now without thinking that I'm drinking "liquid bread".

Giving up beer was hard at first but I did my research and found that I could have just as good a time drinking vodka and soda, which is very low in calories and carbs in comparison. Vodka and other clear liquors are also easier on your system because they're more pure. They do less damage to your organs and often cause less of a hangover.

Good luck you silly drunk

Its gonna be tough to give up beer, I dont think i can completley kill it. Will deifntley cut back though and throw in some Tom Collins and Gina and tonics. I'll do extra cardio to work out for it. This is my last weekend for my "old" ways. I have burned all my P90X Dvds and am ready to start next week, Still gotta find a good spot to mount the bar. This weekend will be the last time I drink 5 or more beers in a single night, I will live it up!

The sour mix in the tom collins is loaded with sugar and is really terrible for you. If you must drink I would go with rum and diet coke as the others have suggested. It tastes pretty good and it's pretty low in calories. Good luck.

corona? becks? those are the lightest beers i know, if you can try to cut down on alcohol consumption that would be the best option.

The best option would be non-alcoholic, low calorie beverages.
