TOPIC: Amount of Food...

Amount of Food... 2 years, 6 months ago #28170

I've noticed some folks on here mentioning that they weren't able to eat the amount of calories outlined by the nutrition guide. How important is it to eat as much as they say? My caloric intake is supposed to be 2400, but I just can't imagine eating that much.

Thanks.

I dont really follow the diet, i watch what i put in my body very carefully, and i only usally manage, and osmeitmes restrict, myself to 1500-1700 calories.

Here's a tip; anything you eat, only eat until your not hungry, not until your full.

Not hungry - Good.

Full - Bad.

Thats what i go by, i wouldnt worry to much about the calories, as long as your hitting far enough above your bmr that your ody does not go into starvation mode, your fine.

although on another note, if you havent got enough energy during workouts, your going to have to find a way to pack in some carbs. Potatoes work good, baked beans and utna is a staple for me, with some cheese.

ngy26 - I just started on Nov. 2nd and I'm also Level II (2400 cal). I'm also surprised by how much food is necessary to reach 2400 calories but I do whatever it takes to get all 2400 every day. When you think about it though it makes sense. Eating healthy foods gives you less calories so you have to eat probably more than you are used to get there.

The nutrition plan put you in that level for a reason, so I'd try and stick with it for at least the first month.Below is what I ate for each meal today to get all my calories.

Breakfast - 6 egg whites, 1cup pepper, 16oz of skim milk and 3oz of
low fat ham

Lunch - Tuna sandwich (wheat) with cheese and celery, banana

Dinner - 9oz of chicken, 2 portions of Stubbs marinade for the condiments, low sodium V8 and 1 cup of green beans

Snack - 2oz of dried fruit

Supplement - Recovery formula and 1/3 cup of whey protein powder as my last protein portion.

I'll admit that's a lot of food but when I get home after work all that is left to eat is dinner and I'm done. "Success comes to those who eat early and often".

Good luck

No problem.

I'm still trying to find out if we should be aiming to eat that many calories. Maybe it's just the max.

Austin said on my log that I should be eating way less then my 3000 calories. I am still not sure why??
