I struggled with this at first too. When I did my P90X calculations, I came up with 3032 calories/day, which was just a hair over the level III limit. As I wanted to lose weight with this program as well, I decided to back it up to level II and started eating 2400 calories/day. At first it seemed like a TON of food, but as you do the workouts, your body gets used to it and you need the fuel. I haven't hit the wall yet in any workouts, so 2400 calories is working for me. If you ever feel like you lack the energy to finish a workout, especially the cardio workouts, then you probably need to eat more calories.

In the end, you have to do what works for you. The levels are just guidelines. Just try to eat as much as you can without forcing food down. I use myfitnesspal.com to keep my percentages in check, and after about 4 weeks, I'm definitely starting to see results! Keep it up!
