Tweaked my wrist yesterday ... anybody help 1 Month, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
So i went indoor rock climbing in a church for the first time yesterday for two hours... enjoyed it i think i am addicted...

that isnt the issue, the issue is, straight after that i went cricket training... havent done any of that training for over a few months so was thoroughly excited... first ball lost my footing and fell over (funny i know got the mick taken out of me by all my team mates.... didnt realise that i had tweaked my wrist in that fall until i got home... managed to do a few chin ups so i thought it would be fine...

this morning i tried to do my morning 10 sun salutations, couldnt even do one, couldnt get the arms straight due to the wrist hurting nor any vinyasa... thoroughly disappointed!

I was wondering if any one can help with new routines for a week or so.. without pushups to keep going.. i am feeling really disheartened today and i really want to make it for sundays indoor rock climb again

I would be very grateful for any help!

Not sure how bad your wrist is? but you could try strapping it up quite tight to restrict movement, I have CTS in my left wrist, and when it plays up I do that. I somtimes do pushups ect, on my knuckles to stop my wrist from bending, and I always use wrist straps for pull ups.

Paul i think i might have to use your advice on strapping, it seems like i have brusied it. I can move it all round but a bit of pain occurs at certain points, i will try different ways to set myself up when i get home for pushups and see what feel best... do like your idea of knuckle pushups...i think tonight though will give my body a rest apart from trying the comfortable positions for the push up

Cheers buddy

Try push-up bars if you can. I have really bad wrist issues myself and the handles really help. If I don't feel like doing them I do push ups with my fists and it keeps them centered. Its hard on your hands doing the entire routine that way but I think it gives a nice workout. Hope that helps.

Btw why on earth would anyone practice cricket?! That's like volunteering to go to the dentist.

Try pushup bars.I broke my wrist when i was 12 falling off the roof of my house.Compound fracture in 2 places bone ripped outta my wrist and just did miss my artery.Sometimes when it is cold and i do pushups it hurts pretty bad and i use my pushup bars to get me through.

I agree with everyone. I do push-ups on my knuckles or wrap my wrist. I sometimes have to do Yoga on my knuckles or with a pushup bar because my they hurt to bad.
