Plyo sub with interval X 4 Months ago

Hey i was wondering would it be more beneficial cardio wise to sub out plyo for interval X, i feel i get my butt whipped way better in interval X than plyo and plyo tends to hurt my feet/shins cause its high impact. I am also subbing kenpo with interval x. Any thoughts?

I subbed Kenpo with Interval X, but I would not remove plyo, plyo is a much longer workout. I feel my lungs burn more in Interval but if Plyo is not whipping your butt you might need to turn it up a notch or 5. You get what you bring to it. Jump high, land like a cat quietly, go quicker than they do on dvd, keep up with dominick on the video.

I ended up switching it up today anyways, interval x is a much better cardio workout and even though it is shorter according to Tony, it burns 2x as many cals as regular cardio. Besides plyo kills my feet and shins too bad and interval does not.

As much as the high impact may hurt, it's really good for you. High impact workouts encourage your body to build stronger bones and there's really no other way to do that. Also, if you're not getting enough out of Plyo then you need to jump higher, squat lower and if anything add some wrist weights or something to your moves.

i love how you ask for advice, and then don't take the suggestions.
I would do what Pauly said, Sub kenpo for Interval X & keep Plyo. Longer workouts burn more calories, even more than intervals. So to answer your question from your first post, Plyo is better cardio than interval X.

This is not the first time I have seen someone say Kenpo just doesn't do it for them anymore.
Maybe I am doing something different, cause I ALWAYS get a good workout out of kenpo. I punch like I'm really punching something. Get a lot of force behind it, but don't over-extend my joints. Get my hips into everything. I kick extra high on almost all of the kicks. I yell out like they do when Tony tells me to. I usually don't stop during the breaks except to get a quick sip of water. Lots of running in place and jumping jacks.
I want to build my shoulders a little bit more, so I just bought little 2 lb dumbbells for the punching sequences. 2 lbs doesn't seem like a lot. Punch a few times with them, though....they get heavy really quickly.
Kenpo is probably my favorite workout.
My point is if you aren't getting a workout out of a particular DVD, you may not be "bringing it." I'm sure there are people that truly need to switch out the DVD for something more intense (and from what I've heard Interval X is awesome), but I have found that if I feel like I have "perfected" a DVD, I have let my form slack a little bit. If you make a point to BRING IT every time, you'll get that workout you want.

By good workout, i am talking pretty much on my tale after im done. I already am in pretty good shape with military PT and my weightlifting past. Kenpo, yes i will sweat, but i am not on my butt like what interval x does to me. Trust that i am bringing it on every workout, seeing amazing results and im cutting pretty good. I will be subbing kenpo but i will be keeping plyo after some researching. If the guy with one leg in the video isnt having problems then i should not be either. Ill just concentrate on landing like a cat more to take some of the impact outta my feet and knees
