newbie ready 2 purchase equipment, need ur help! 4 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I guess I should first introduce myself since this is my first time here I purchased P90X and am excited to begin! Especially after seeing some of your amazing transormations! I've always been a fitness junkie. My job requires alot of travel, and it's not always easy to make time for the gym. So the convience of being able to do this program at home is what caught my eye. I eat healthy for the most part, but I'd say I could lose a good 10 lbs. I'm mainly looking to tone up.

OK, so I read the "Top 20 P90x questions," and just wanted to make sure I was ordering the right equipment before finalzing my purchases on Amazon. So any feedback you can give me on these items or different suggestions on ones that may work better, I appriciate it. I just want to make sure I'm getting the best equipment to maximize my workout

Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar
I liked this one because besides being used for pull ups, I can use it for push-ups and abs.

Resistance Band Set

Dumbells- I really don't know which weights are going to be best so I may have to play around. I'm going to go to a local sports store and get 8 lbs, 10 lbs & 15 lbs to start.

Already have a yoga mat and I think I'll wait on the heart monitor for now.

Thanks for your help Looking forward to sharing stories with you all!!

It sounds like you've done your research. You don't necessarily need both dumbells and resistance bands, but if you want the versatility of being able to switch it up, more power to you.

Bands will work when you travel. I would hit the DB's whenever you can. You are going to need more lbs. on the DB, pretty quick. FYI.

Time now to start Doing.

Best of luck!

Gunnski, do you think it'd be better to just blow the money on adjustable ones now? Buying 4, 5 sets will eventually add up costing near the same I'm guessing.

Thanks for all the info guys

I would not "blow" money on anything.

Look at the equipment as an investment. If those dumbells work nto your budget. Go for it. The speed & convenience will be worth it. Nice.
