Mason twists - huge achievement for me!! 4 Months ago Karma: 6
I did ALL 50 mason twists last night without stopping.

I was ecstatic...and it hurt like crazy. It was awesome.

Nice work, I'm pretty sure that every person that does Ab Ripper does the exact same thing at the end of the workout, collapse onto the floor hands and feet out to the sides like a starfish, and groans.

actually, since a mason twist ends on 1 side, I typically curl into the fetal position and whimper for a few seconds... haha

There are days I can keep my legs up and then there are days I just can't seem to do it! On those days, I use an 8lb weight and then do the mason twist....

I can do all 50 mason twists, but only when I don't do them at the end of ARX. For example, if I sat down on the ground this very instant I could do them with ease. But at the end of ARX, now way. I'm happy to make 30 before resting.

Yeah that's normally what i do at the end of ARX. 30 or 35, take a break for 5 then finish up.

But not that day!! 50 in a row at the end of ARX.

Again, it was awesome

I usually do like 15-20 and then finish with my feet on the ground. I wonder if I just ignore the Tony numbers, do 15-20, then rest for a few seconds, then try to hammer out more with my feet off the ground if it'll work better. I'm gonna try it today!

I think it's more like 51 or 52 anyway, because I counts kinda slow the last ten once he gets all excited. Like 51. He drags it out to waaaaaaaaa uh uh one".

I did all 50 last Friday! I had to take breaks though. I did 20 then took a 3-4 second break, busted out 10 more, another 3 second break, then 10 more, then another break, then the last 10. Gonna try to hit 25 before the first break today & go up from there!

All you guys talking about doing 50 I had to try it last night. I felt the usual overwhelming burn at around 35, but this time instead of resting I just manned my way through it. By the time I got to 40 I figured I'd gone this far, might as well do all 50... and did! Thanks for the motivation guys.

Re:Mason twists - huge achievement for me!! 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 6
heck yeah!!!!

Good job guys!!!

Let's see who else can bust out all 50 mason twists without stopping. It burns around 35, hurts at 40, but if you can get that far, just push through it. Let your form go a little and fight through the pain.

Who else has it in 'em??

Re:Mason twists - huge achievement for me!! 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 6
Wow. 60? That sounds pretty tough. I push it pretty hard suring ARX, so when I get to mason twists I am pretty toast. I also lean WAAAAAY back when I do them. So 50 is still pretty hard for me. I have only gotten all 50 once.

Let us know how you do.

Yeah if i do make it to 60 in a few hours, ill be adding a 5lb weight. I used to do this type of exercise with a 15lb medicine ball but not that many reps that fast.

Holy crap haha, i just got done legs n back and ARX. For the first time ever in my 2 rounds i did all of fifer scissors and did !60! mason twist!! Dude i am freaking euphoric(think thats the word i want haha). Been taking SP250 for about a week now, not sure if that is helping or not lol. Im going into recovery week, hoping i can retain those standards moving into phase 3.. If not oh well, i surpassed my mind as far as those two exercises.
