TOPIC: Push-Ups

This is probably a dumb question but curious what everyones opinion is on doing push up with elbows in, versus elbow out. Tony occasionally says to keep the elbows in, but as I look at the others some have them in and some have them out. Obviously, they will work different muscles. I have been doing them with elbow out (maybe 45 degree angle) (especially on the narrow ones). Curious, if I should change or just continue as I am doing.

Found some info at eorthopod.com that suggest that you should start with elbows out and as you progress then slowly move elbows in which is obviously harder. Can't believe how much time it took to find the answer to this question. Just in case someone else was wondering the same.

It depends what kind you're doing. Normal pushups = elbows out, military pushups = elbows in (kinda pinched to your sides).

and of course something like diamonds you have really no choice but to go elbows out!
