Hey there! yeah i would think 9 months would be enough time to get ready.. just start out slow and see how you feel. My training is going pretty well.. it is tough doing both at once but the P90x training is helping me with strength and endurance and I can feel it in my runs. The only problem is making the time to do both and some days i really dread having to run after the workout (like last night- ugh.. did legs/back and abs and then got on the treadmill to run although I didn't feel like it). The cardio isnt a substitute for running but I can tell that it is helping me too. Only 53 days and 16 hours till the Marathon! Their website has a ticking clock countdown.. that's a pretty good motivator- no matter what I'm doing it tells me it's getting closer! Good luck to you and keep in touch!

Yesterday was X-Stretch day so I did that and 13 miles on the treadmill. Felt really good and could have kept going but had to take care of the kids. Core Synergistics was a great workout- the best one so far I think. Felt like I was back in highschool in baseball practice lol. I have it again today so I am looking forward to pushing harder now that I know what to expect.

IMO, 9 mos is plenty of time - especially if you will have just completed P90X prior. I did my first (and only) 1/2 a few years ago. I was running about 5km 3X a week and suddenly got in into my head that I'd like tot try a marathon. This was in July and all the events in my area were planned for late Sept/early Oct. I didn't think that was enough time to get ready for a full-on 42km marathon but I decided to try anyway. If I ran out of time I told myself I'd "just" do the half. That's exactly what ended up happening. I did the 1/2 in just under 2hrs.
