Actually, sounds like your husband is doing well. As for his out town trip... as you already know, "life happens".

Yep, Boomer, life happens.

I missed yesterdays workout as well. We did not get in until after midnight. OY!

So, I am going to complete this weeks workouts but I am going to begin this week over again with hubs next week. Two missed days is unacceptable.

I will be working out this a.m.

I have an early morning appointment with a new endocrinologist. It's time for a second opinion. My hypothyroidism seems to be getting worse and the last one I went to - well, suffice it to say her suggestions have not worked.

Keep your fingers crossed that today I will actually visit with a doctor who sees me as an individual and not a "range."

Had an okay workout today. Nothing great. I struggled to get through. I just have no energy.

The good news is my blood tests have come back and yep, it's official. I have hypothyroidism. Yeah, I've been knowing that, but actually finding a doctor to treat it has been unbelievably difficult. Beginning tomorrow morning I will be taking Synthroid (sp?) , which is a thyroid replacement hormone.

In a few weeks my energy levels will be back up, my skin will look better, my hair will quit falling out and I will hopefully begin to see the actual results of all this healthy living!

My doctor recommended I back off the hard exercise for about 2 to 3 weeks (which is about how long it takes for the meds to kick in) and just stick with some casual walking for now. Hmmm......... I don't know. I'll have to think about that.

Christine,

Glad you've finally gotten the answers! Hypothyroidism can be horrible...in extreme cases, even fatal!! It's nice to see a diagnosis and a treatment plan.

Also, we're all looking forward to seeing some pretty incredible changes in you during the next few weeks. Nothing would prohibit you from doing, say, a light version of P90X until the meds kick in, then you'll know when the time is right to bring it! Then it's "look out, here she comes!!"

Just know we're all rooting for you and we're so glad you finally have answers.

Kevin

Christine,

I am glad you finally got a good diagnosis. I would take your doc's recommendation just so things go smoothly. After that you can "bring it" (or what is it that Chalean says?).

Okay, so I did not do CE today. However, I could not NOT do any workout so I did the 20 minute Turbo Jam Cardio workout. I actually felt pretty good afterwards.

I"m just so torn. It has taken two years of hubs watching me for him to finally get up and join in- of his own accord. Without me, he's not doing it. I'm afraid I'm going to lose him if I wait two more weeks. Maybe I can get him to do some cardio while waiting. That would be okay and actually make him feel better. I'll see if he's game.

Thank you for all of your updates i will be starting this program in a few days. My soon to be Husband is starting P90X at the same time we both want to lean up before we say "I do". I have Turbo Jam in did that throughout my pregnancy but wanted to start P90X to get lean but the videos never seemed very appealing. I'm so happy that I read these posts of yours, I am really looking forward to starting this program!

I should have the DVD's sometime this week and P90X should be here also. We are getting married on April Fools next year. I have always been very active, and I have a lot of faith in the beach body work out series ( I have slim in 6 and Turbo Jam) I worked out throughout my pregnancy but still gained more then i wanted to have to lose. Now I am about 15 lbs away from where i would like to be and alot of toning to go. As far as using weights in this video what would you suggest i get if I have 5lbs and 10 lbs already? Thank you for this blog it's easier to get started when you know what to expect.

April Fools! I love it!

I'm not certain how strong you are. I use everything from 3's to 20's. It depends on the particular exercise and how quickly your strength increases.

I personally would begin with 3's to 15's. You will want heavier when doing leg routines.
