Will this work for me? 2 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hey guys! I just saw this on TV and saw what this program had to offer. I actually heard of this program from a friend who had a friend to do it and forgot the title. The fact that I found it I think isn't a coincidence. Anyway, I was wondering if this would work for me. I see everyone and they are really aren't that overweight. For me, I'm a 6'2"-6'3" 22 year old that's roughly over 350lbs. Yeah, I'm a big boy. But I was wondering, what kind of results can I expect from doing P90X with my body type?

If I had to take a guess, I'm guessing I'd burn crazy fat and gain muscle tone and become big like one of those professional wrestlers but done without HGH. Is there anything I really need to worry about or is this program really geared toward me or is the target really those who might be just looking to get cut. I mean I'd love to get cut and ripped as well but obviously fat loss is a major concern. Should I be consulting a doctor instead of these forums?

Any insight would be great. 90 days sounds too good to be true but since others here have done it, just wondering what's up with it. Any feedback would be great and who knows, perhaps I'll join the P90X family. Thanks ahead of advance!

If you can pass the fitness test - come on and JOIN THE PARTY.

Yes, you should consult a doctor first for sure.

The workouts are pretty intense, but there are modifications that can be made for us big guys (I'm 6'4 310). The best part is that you see so much improvement in how you can do the exercises in each phase.

Good luck.

Big Papa

Might need a few rounds, OR start P90 then move up. I was fit(ish) and these workouts would make my heart almost leap out of my chest! lol

Good for you do it if you can. But its hard so don't let that frustrate you. Like tony often says if you feel like your toast then jsut stop or bail on that exercise or movement. There is no shame in not being able to do everything these guys do. The only shame is not trying and giving 100 percent.

But did you know if you can transform your body you would be a good bet to win 10,000 dollars or more and become a beachbody celebrity!

I agree with all the comments here.

I'd definitely check with your doctor first!!! You know that you're overweight, or you wouldn't be here with us. Don't worry, we're all on the same journey and we all need each other. We'll be honest with you, too! Try the fit test and join us if you pass. If you don't, look at being able to do P90X as a goal, start working out with Slim in 6 or P90 and then take the fit test in 6-12 weeks...come on along if you pass!!

I've been doing P90X and P90X Plus for nearly 6 months now. No, I'm nowhere near where I want to be. I haven't lost all that much, though I've lost two belt notches. But I've seen improved muscle tone and coordination, my energy level is better, and I'm in the best shape I've been in for 20 years! It may take me another year or two to get where I want to be, and I'm looking forward to a knee replacement after the first of the year. I'm here for the long haul, and I don't have any schedule to keep. I just want to get better, knowing the fat will go in time!

Hope this helps,

Kevin

P.S.: Big Papa and I are the same height and weight! But not for long!!!
