TOPIC: Travel and no time

Travel and no time 3 years, 4 months ago #8416

The topic of travel has been brought up several times, but I have a unique situation. Next month I will be chaperoning my son and step-daughter on a school field trip to DC. I went with my daughter last year, so I know what to expect. We are on the go from breakfast until 9 or 10 at night. The trip is all day, every day, for 3 days. On the bus, off the bus, walk around, on the bus, off the bus, walk around. By the time we get back to the room we are so exhausted all we want to do is sleep. There will be no workouts for those 3 days, except maybe some pushups if I'm up to it.
When we get back, would it be ok to double up on the days I missed? I'm seeing such great results, I don't want to screw it up.

In that case I would say take the three days off from P90X. You will be getting some light cardio in by all of the walking that you will be doing. Watch what you are eating and when you get back home start at day 1 of the week that you are supposed to be in.

I would rework your schedule so that you do your resistance routines before and after your trip so you don't miss any of those. You can double up stretch and use Day 7 for one of the other routines. I think Kenpo can be skipped because of the cardio. If you can't squeeze in Plyo and Yoga, oh well. You can always squeeze in ARX if nothing else.

Rearranging sounds like a workable idea. I'll be gone Wed, Thurs and Fri, come back on Sat. I'll be in Phase 2 by then, so I'm not exactly sure what the workouts will be, but I can do resistance on Tues before I leave and then on Sat when I get back. I guess the good news is that by that point, I'll be able to eat carbs, and if I'm not mistaken, there is a subway in the mall we will be going to.

The schedule for Phase 2 is basically the same as Phase 1, resistance training Mon/Wed/Fri, Plyo on Tuesday, Yoga Thursday, Kempo Saturday, Stretch Sunday (if you start on Mondays). Just different resistance routines in Phase 2.

Yeah, that's what I'll do. I can probably add some jogging in with the kids when we're going across the National Mall to the other Smithsonians.
