That's exactly what I did this morning. I was going to give up, but then I decided to watch it thru to see how much more I was gonna have in store. The last part was doable, so I'm glad I decided to watch it thru to the end.

Hey All,
I started this past monday as well, I'm 22 and I'm in pretty good shape, have worked out for a long time. Just graduated college and decided it was time to get rid of the beer belly i started to acquire. I can honestly say that i have not been this sore in years from working out. The work out is great and truly anything would work if you were just this active for 90 days but thru the first three days my body is in pure pain. I look forward to reading everybodys updates and progress. I wish everybody the best and not to give up, you are the only one who truly stands in your way.

I've been doing other yoga since October, some kundalini yoga and more recently vinyasa flow yoga, is it anything like either of those if you know?

It's mostly ashtanga yoga for the first 45 minutes or so. Then some balance stuff and some ab stuff. Not really sure what "system" that stuff comes from, or if Tony just threw it in & called it "yoga".

Oh yeah, did the Yoga X today and the first half was challenging and repeatative. I got through the entire thing, but it took me two hours (my two screaming boys!) so needless to say, I didn't get the whole "relaxing" aspect of it. Grrrrr! I wish I could do it at night, but I hate working out late because I am usually bloated up in the evenings. I didn't struggle with many of the balancing poses, which is a shock, but my faves were corpse and fetus pose......can you guess why!?

I tackled yoga for the first time tonight and I loved it! It was pretty much the stuff I've been doing, with a few poses I've not done. By the time I got to the balance poses, my arms were on fire. I'm definitely going to feel it in the morning. I attempted and was able to hold crane pose for about 3 seconds before I felt like I was going to fall on my face.
**Bonus**
I've lost 4 lbs since starting on Monday....YEAH ME!!! Lol

Most people shifting to a higher protein diet from a higher carb diet will lose several pounds in the first few days. It seems exciting, but... (and I'm sorry to deflate anyone's bubble here)
The weight is water weight. Carbohydrate gets stored in the body as glycogen. My understanding (and I'm no nutritionist, but I've been doing a lot of research on diets & nutrition) is that glycogen gets stored with water. So as your body is being asked to utilize protein instead of carb for energy, it burns through your glycogen stores. As it does that, the water goes too. Thus the drop in weight.
Losing "weight" is not what matters. Losing FAT is what we all want. If you're really concerned because you're not seeing the pounds drop off, invest is a GOOD pair of body fat calipers, and keep track that way instead of on the scale. I think you'll be SHOCKED at how much fat you're dropping, even when the scale doesn't budge much.
I'm just finishing up week 14 - the second week of Phase III. I weighed 206 when I started P90X. Today I weigh 192. 14 pounds... seems pretty good, but that's really only a pound a week, so nothing stellar, right? WRONG! My bodyfat was at 20.6% on day one. It's at 10% today. That means I've lost 23 pounds of fat, and GAINED 9 pounds of muscle!
Stick with the nutrition plan a couple weeks at least. If you then feel like it's too much food, cut back a little. But be very careful not to undereat. Your body will go into starvation mode, and will begin STORING fat and attacking muscle. You'll lose weight, sure, but it's not the weight you want to lose!

My weight really hasn't budged, but it hasn't for awhile, not sure why. My body shape, however, is changing a lot based on measurements and photos (I was doing other stuff prior to starting P90x on Monday so it's not like all this happened in 4 days HHAH)
From August to December 08 I technically only lost about 8 scale pounds, but went from a 22 to an 18. Not sure all that's going on inside, but it's a good indicator to not be a slave to the scale!!
The yoga killed me. I lasted about 30 mins in, my arms were just toast, all those upward and downward dogs, phrew! I'll shoot for 60 mins next week and see what happens.

I know the weight loss is just water, but it still feels good to see that number dropping. My pants are getting looser and I'm starting to notice more definition in my mid-section. Not a lot, but some. Hubby has lost 8 lbs already and is tickled to death. He's on level 3, and isn't hungry at all. He loves that he's staying full, eating a hell of a lot of food and losing weight. Only drawback is the amount of time it takes to prepare, but if it was easy, everyone would do it, right?

Thanks caedenspa!! I know that looking at the scale is not the correct indicator for progress on this program, but I am anxious for results. I know Rome wasn't built in a day and the drop won't happen that quickly either. I'm only in my first week so I have a ways to go, plus I do plan on doing another cycle of the 90 days after this one is done. I will get down to 10% bodyfat or less and it will take as long as it takes! Thanks again for the reminder and the encouragement!!

I missed yoga last night, guess I will make it up on my "off" day. Is that the best course of action?

I started out at 140, and ended 90 days later at 144, but I lost a size in clothes, gained 7.25lb of muscle. How your clothes fit is the key here, not the scale.
Brent, if you have time, you might want to double up X Stretch with one of your other workouts this weekend, then you can do Yoga on Day 7. HOWEVER, I would do Yoga today, then move everything forward so you have Kenpo & X Stretch on Day 7, because on Day 8 you have Chest & Back and you won't be able to really bring it for your pushups the day after Yoga. If you can't double up on day 7, so you'll skip X Stretch this week.

Thanks, I just read it though so I am a little too late (legs & back tonight). However, I will do Kenpo X in the a.m., then yoga tomorrow night. That way I will still be on on track for stretch Sunday morning. I'll be back on track Monday morning. Hope you guys are all busting it out.

I too tackled Kenpo today. My legs are burnt out from yoga on Thursday and then legs/back last night. Kenpo was good, my TaeBo background helped A LOT...I knew how to do almost all of the moves and could hang with them pretty well.

Skipped the stretch x, we had some stuff going on this weekend that already had made me double up Legs/Back/AbX and Kenpo on Saturday and with all the snow shoveling and a couple games of laser tag, I was spent LOL. I still feel like a truck backed over me a few times.
I have learned, however, if I falter on my eating, my workouts suffer. Bleh. Lesson learned there!
