Right now I am attempting to get fit again after ~7-8 years of just being an "average" person. I am not obese, but I am overweight and I am certainly not fit anymore.

Unfortunately, this desire to change my body and my life comes at a time where I am still working 40 hours a week and going to school for 13 hours a week, and when both of those places are about an hour away that makes for almost 14 hours driving per week. So, needless to say, making time for 60-100 mins per day of P90X is tough.

I believe in the program, so much so that I hate the idea of deviating in any way, but so far in my first week I have already had to reschedule "Shoulders and Arms" a day later than normal, and couldn't complete Ab Ripper X because of time constraints. Part of this is because I can't do the entire workout straight through, I need those water breaks and sometimes a few extra just to not fall over and throw up.

Should I take a few weeks to attempt to get my fitness level up first, and then jump back into the program from the beginning? If so, what do you guys recommend?

Should I just push through it and do my best (and forget the rest)?

HELP!

Hi and welcome! Yes, just do your best and forget the rest. You will improve over time.

Scheduling this can cause a problem w/ some ppl's hectic schedule. Some ppl just plan their day so they get up sooner in the morning to train. You gotta just play around with it right now till you see what will work 4 you. Good luck, sounds like you have a plateful, but it can be done if you REALLY want it bad enough. If you miss a day, don't beat yourself up, just get back on track the following day. Life goes on....Keep doing the nutritional plan at the very least. Good luck! Hugs~Kate

Push through and do the best you can. I know it it easier said that done, but if this is a priority for you then you just have to create time in your schedule. Tell yourself that regardless of what you have going on you WILL do you workout. I also work full time and take a few classes. I know that on those days I have class the last thing I want to do after a 16 hour day is go home and workout. But I do it and have never regretted it. At the end of the workout I always feel great and am glad I forced myself to do it. Keep pushing play.

Hi r00!

Keep at it and go at your own pace without getting ill. You'll keep gaining endurance and energy. It's okay to take as many water breaks as you need. You can do it!!

Don't feel bad, you aren't in this boat alone. I work 40 hours a week, inlcuding every other weekend, take 2 classes and I'm a single mom. Talk about tough! But it can be done. I don't have the time or the money to follow the diet plan, I'm concentrating on just eating clean and healthy and getting my workouts done. Yes, it's going to take me longer but that's ok.
As for you, if you have to divide the workouts, do it. There is no rule that you have to do abs immediately before or after the main workout. If you have 20 min in the morning, do it then. Yoga can be divided into two 45 min segments which makes things a bit easier. Bottom line is that you have to decide how bad you want it and just do it.

Thanks for all of the encouragement ladies and gents... I am definitely a morning worker-outer so I have been getting up between 4:30 and 5:30 depending on the day of the week to try and get my workout in before leaving in the morning.
