Noob here 8 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hi, my name is Carol and I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am currently on Week 4 - Recovery Week and am loving everything about this program.

I have lost 7 1/2 pounds so far which is pretty great considering I only want to lose 12 - 15 total. I have noticed big changes in my stomach/hip area and have noticed great improvements in my stamina. I am a group exerciser instructor and teach a weight-based hour long class and have noticed I'm not nearly as winded as I used to be during class while cueing. I am loving the plyometrics and kenpo workouts, and am slowly getting used to the yoga. Yoga just isn't my thing and I have to work real hard at 'emptying my mind' during it.

This exercise program is incredible and simply the best, most effective I've ever tried - and I've been exercising regularly for about 15 years now. I'm hooked and look forward every day to getting home to work out!

Carol

Welcome Carol

Do stick around, as a veteran perhaps you could provide some tips.

WOW i am in week 4 also and have not lost as much weight but inches.
Are you going by the P90X diet plan? I hate yoga too, I gotta be on the move!!! Let me know what your secret is, I am posting 30 day pics and new measurements on SAT.

The first 2 1/2 weeks I stuck to the diet plan EXACTLY. Then last week at my work we had pretzel day, ice cream day, etc. and I did cheat here and there, but stuck to the diet otherwise.

I think it's the cardio work that has helped me lose the weight. I did weight training 3x a week before doing this program, but I wasn't getting any cardio in.

Also, although I did eat fairly healthy before starting this program, my portions were way too big and I have an extreme love for chocolate. I usually give up chocolate for Lent each year, and usually lose about 5 pounds just from not eating it! It's amazing what happens when you cut the sugar out of your diet.

So to answer your question, I think it's a combination of more cardio, following the diet plan, and especially cutting out the chocolate (or at least most of it )

I didn't lose a lot of weight during my first 30 days, by mid phaseII however, I started to see a trend of weight loss. Give it time, your body needs to adjust. 30 days is nothing but if you continue to push play and watch what you eat, your body has no choice but to change.

Also, don't focus on the weight loss as much. A lot of the veterans here will state this as well( I'm sure you don't want to hear that). The P90X program builds muscles, muscles weigh more than fat so keep that in mind.
