Hi everyone,
My name is Tom and I'm a soon to be 27 year old who is about 30 lbs overweight for my height. The sad part is for the past 4 or 5 years I have just accepted this as ok. I would workout for two or three weeks at a time but I have not made a commitment to myself since High School sports. I'm 5'10.
Weight on HS graduation day 1999 170 LBS.
Weight Today 217 Lbs.
----------
I finally decided to pull the trigger a few days ago ( my P90x is on it's way now ) but have been so amped about starting this program I've been doing Cardio Kicking boxing for the past three nights. Tonight I am going to do some weight training to get the muscles sore once before I start kicking my own ass.
---------
I am going to be looking here for motivation - I know I finally have the desire to get back to healthy. I drink to much - I don't eat right - and it's a bad spiral. I love being active, I am very competitive, and there is nothing better than waking up sore and knowing you are moving forward. I will be posting day 1 pictures Sunday night and will try to use this forom as a progress chart. ( I will of course keep my own records )
---
Thanks in advance for the support. I think it's time I bring it.

Happy to be here.. Just finished a 2 mile walk. Going to be doing this daily in addition to the training (weather permitting). It's good to get the heart going and for warming up the legs. Plus it breaks up the day.

Can do -
Today (and all week) has been a supurb diet week.
averaged 1900 - 2250 for calorie intake
Making sure to have complete Carbs for energy and alot of protein.
I have never eaten healthy for more than 2 days ever - This is new ground, but I feel good about the decision. I just had a Boca burger! That's crazy for me - I'm used to double cheese not veggie!
Also got the pullup bar installed and finished the 2 mins of JJ's. That last 30 sucked!
Until tomorrow.
-Tom

We'll - Popped in Tony's "Watch this first" DVD last night. Makes sense - went thru the nutrition guide last night and started some meal planning. I am good thru Monday as it stands.
I wanted to start last night I was so eager but decided to go with a work out from the biggest loser chick Jillian. That wasn't a bad decision - She's no joke. I woke up today and I am buzzing with energy, I feel unreal. If I wake up feeling energized and happy albeit sore I've already starting reaping the benefits.

Congratz on the decision to change, you won't regret it. The program is very tough, but awesome!! I was like you in the food department, a double cheeseburger person, but I found, once the decision to change was made, it was quite easy to do. Good luck.

Day 1 in the books!
I was challeged today - It felt good. I am all pumped up and shaky a testament that I pushed hard.
The ab x is a real pita!!! the last exercise when they push out 50 at the end of 2 workouts was just to much.. I hit failure at 12.. I kept trying to do more but i couldnt keep my legs off the ground.
Next time i'll get 12 plus.

I finished Plyo and did 90%+ of the workout - paused a couple times for an extented 30 seconds but did not stop moving.
I am happy to have made it - It was really no joke.
Breakfast - granola and Kashi with banana / 8 oz simply smart milk
Lunch - blackbean veggie burger with wheat bun / 6 oz steamed veggies / 4 oz side black beans
Recovery drink
Dinner - 4 oz sliced sirlion with steamed peppers and onions over 4 oz white rice, zucchini.
I felt like I had the energy to get thru this. complete

Week 1 - Day 3
Arms and shoulders + ab ripper done --
I feel ok - not 100% wipped out - I'm sure tomorrow the pain will set in. My shoulders are weak so light weight was in order - big all but 1 bi exercise with 25lbs and completed my goals. Tri's were/aare still sore from Monday - This I know will start to recover quicker as time goes by from previous lifting experience.
Good news - It's been 11 days since I decided to change - I am down to 210.6 this morning. That's almost 7 lbs!

Week 1 Completed - Feeling great - Weighed in at 207.6 today - Loving this!
Lots of pain and aches, this isn't easy, but it is legit.
Hitting play over and over - I can't wait for day 30.

Just checking in - Still going strong. I am 1 day behind on the workouts - I was buring the candle at both ends and coming weak to the workouts. I decided to get a solid night sleep and hault the workouts 1 day. So far so good. I woke up today and did the cardio X routine, tonight I have shoulders and arms, ab ripper.
I am still pushing play and feeling great.
