Pull Ups and Bands??? 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hey all...

Hopefully I will recieve my px90 Sat, wahoo! But I thought the sporting store down the street sold pull up door bars, but alas didnt, but they did sell bands, I read that u can use bands in replacement of pull up bars? How the heck do u do that> I have never used bands, I plan on ordering a pull up bar online, but dont want to wait till it arrives to start the program... So how do you do the bands instead of the pull ups? Does the video show u?
thanks

I don't know if I have but I'll do it anyways,

Welcome to the P90X forums.

And you'll need a door anchor for the bands. They are like 2 bucks or really easy to make one. This is what they look like.

Also, if you have an unfinished portion of your basement, you can loop the band over an I-beam and use it that way, suspended from the beam. Works great!

Thanks for the welcome!

Okay so, if I need the band, I saw a door hook that came with the bands when I was browsing thru the store... So not sure if thats the same thing. But once I get it, does the video tell u how to use them in exchange for doing a pull up?

Thanks much.

I also live in apartment, so no basement and no beams to speak of! smile

Yeah, a lot of bands will come with door anchor already.

The video will show you how to do the exercise with the bands but you basically do the same motion. You might notice that you'll be able to do more with the bands than you could a real pull up. It's normal and if you have to, pause the video and finish up.
