What will I do? 1 Month, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Ok this is the story, I want to start the whole P90X process...but I also play rugby..I don't know what to do!

The idea is that go from Day 1 to Day 90 in 90 days non-stop, sticking to the schedule provided! But I do rugby training Tuesday and Thursday, match Wednesday/Saturday..I hope you get what I'm at!

Should I even try do and do a part of P90X on a day I do rugby? Or just leave it? Again, I want to do "Day 1 to Day 90" but will I be over doing it if I do both..reply with your opinion..

(Note : I haven't started the program yet..)

Although I don't play sports, I get a lot of knee pain and if it is too bad I miss a day (on occassions 2).

When I restart I just start back from where I finished - so for example Monday Chest & Back, Tuesday break, Wednesday Plyometrics. I'm not sure if this is recommended but it seems to work for me.

The advantage you have is that you are still doing something on your match days so your body's not really taking a break.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums!

If you play rugby, you'll get plenty of cardio! Well, maybe interval training might be a better way of looking at it. But it's still a great way to burn calories.

My suggestion would be to do the lifting days (Chest and Back, Arms and Back, etc) and Ab Ripper X, and skip Kenpo. I'd definitely work in some Plyometrics as it'll help you enormously in rugby. You can add Kenpo back in the off season if you have one.

You may have trouble fitting in some stretching, but find a place for Yoga if you can. At the very least, do X-Stretch at least once a week. You might want to work in an extra X-Stretch during your rugby training days. As a treat, give it a try after a game when you're still warm and before you hit the shower. You'll feel great afterward!

Hope this helps...

Kevin
