I'm also starting in a few weeks. In the meantime, you can always start the nutrition plan/diet.
I plan to try out a few of the exercises, go easy and let my body be sore. Then start for real sometime in May.

Hi,
I've ordered the CDs today, hurray! I'll be travelling from 1st-11th of May. From my previous experience I know I'll be fighting jet lag for at least a week or so, however, I think I'll be ready to start on 17th of May (Sunday).
jenjenjen and HillBillyHero78 good luck!

I'm thinking of starting sometime soon, I want to jump into this right now, but various things are making me wait. May 11th sounds like a good time to start. I'm game.

It's so cool. There are 5 of us now. I've decided to start on 11th as well. Tiredness may help me to get over the jet lag hahaha.

I'm going to take progress pics the night before. I'm excited about getting started. I think my next door neighbor is going to do it with me. He and I made a pact that by 5/11/2010 we'll be in the best shape we've ever been in. Having to wait until 5/11 is killing me though. I want to do it now.

Hi all,
I just wanted to make a comment on diet. I began working out 6 weeks ago in preparation for p90x.
My diet wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either. When I started working out I also changed the way I ate.
I bought lots of veggies and fruits, put them in tupperware (cut those that would keep) and this made it easy to eat well.
So after 6 weeks of eating well and working out I though "Hey how about a cheat day". I thought it would be nice to have a small serving of home made nachos. Natural cheese etc... Well I had a serving of about 12 chips, black olives, green pepper and cheese. I don't know what it was, but my body and taste buds rejected this meal. I felt just awful half way though eating this very small portion. I will never cheat again, mostly because I really don't think I wanted to cheat physically, it was a mental desire and my body just thought my mind a lesson.
What I learned, don't eat something you don't really need. Desire for a food I used to like isn't as important as nutrition and fueling the body. Your body learns to love other things, eating nachos was awful, but carrots, apples, cucumbers I actually desire these things now. I was eating out of nostalgia and the reality of the food and the fantasy were two different things.
Sorry this is so long, just wanted to share my experience and to help you avoid the unpleasant thing that happens when your body rejects a food.
best
J

Here's the diet I'm considering for phase one. It's lots of stuff that's easy for me to "grab and go" with little prep time. Anyone got any suggestions?
Breakfast
1c 1% Milk
1 Banana
6 Strawberries
3 TBSP Protein Powder
1 TBPS Flax Oil
Mid Morning
1 Apple
1 Pure Protein PB Protein Bar
Lunch
6oz Grilled Chicken Breast
1 slice WW Bread
1 cup Raw veggies (celery or carrots)
Afternoon Snack
1 Apple
1 Can tuna
Dinner
6oz grilled chicken
2 C romaine lettuce
2 Tbsp Low Fat/Low Cal Dressing
1 C Chopped Broccoli
Snack
1 Orange
1 Pkg KrunCheeze Protein Snacks
Post workout/recovery
14oz Musclemilk Protein Shake
Percentages:
Protein: 50%
Carbs: 26%
Fat: 24%
Total Cals: 2,463

Diet I think is going to be the hardest part for me. I've got a week to figure something out. I'll be more than happy eating the same thing, every day. I'm really fed up with the lack of healthy eating options I have right now.
Also a problem I'm looking at right now is a location to work out. My house is more modern, and has an open plan, very few doorjams to hang a pull up bar from.

Diet was hard for me to change as well. I grew up in south texas where tacos, nachos and bbq are standard affair. I changed my diet about 6 weeks ago. My usual day looks like this now and I have been able to stick to it because I pre-cut all my veggies and turkey and keep it in containers, everything is always ready for me to eat.
Breakfast
1. Handful of mixed nuts, banana, glass of 2% milk and a fiber bar.
2. Snack: Celery, apple water
Lunch
3. half a turkey sandwich, no dressing just lots of veggies and on whole wheat. Usually an apple and water go with this.
Dinner
I slice a bit of turkey about 6oz and eat that
some cucumbers, broccoli, and carrots to go along with it.
It needs some work and is probably too little but its way better then burgers, nachos and foot long subs ( no one needs to eat a foot long sandwich)
My apartment is tiny, but I just rearranged it to make it work for working out.
Nothing is as important as health right!
We start in 10 days everyone!.

I tried the kenpo x today. I like it! I will try a few more of the workouts before starting officially, hoping to get some of the major soreness out before I have to workout daily.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this board but, I'm also going to be starting P90X on 05/11/09 and could really use the support. What programs is everyone going to do? I'm going to be doing the Lean program because I don't want to bulk up just do lots of toning along with weight loss.

That's cool. I don't think I'm ready for the classic yet. I plan on doing that one after I finish the Lean program when I am a little stronger. We can still be there for support.

I plan to do the classic. I want to run also, so I think if I do lean I'd have too much cardio and too little strength.
btw, I tried out the core synergistics today and it was so hard! I couldn't do some of the moves (running chataranga, or any chataranga) and I did a bunch of the moves with no weights...lol...I have no strength at all.

I have completed Core as best as I could and you are right some of the moves are hard so I just did what I could do. I work out in the gym twice a week doing serious cardio for an hr. thru the week. I tried Yoga too. That was just awful. I really struggle with that one.

I am very excited to start this as well -- I think starting on the 11th is as good of a time to start as any. My problem is that I don't have the meal plan ready yet.
My boyfriend started doing the classic a month and a week ago. He's seeing some AMAZING results, it's great seeing him change because it motivates me to do the same. I am very scared to bulk up, but I've heard that I shouldn't be afraid of that. I'll be doing the Lean. Wish I'd started a long long time ago, as I just went on vacation and totally wish I had the bod I wanted there.
So, LET'S GET FIT PEOPLE!
