You won't need a lot of weight. One pound weights for the arms and, maybe, two pound weights for the legs would be about it.
Also, you need to be a bit more careful about "popping" (fully extending) your joints with weights as the momentum from the added weight will increase the likelihood of fully extending the joint. Potentially, you could hyperextend the joint. That would be bad.
As long as you're careful, the extra weights can give a great workout and burn more calories!

This dropped back to the 2nd page!
I subbed out yoga with some cycling today (I'm a week behind y'all remember). I got a cycling computer, with speed sensor and HR monitor. It's fun.

Yeah, I sub Yoga for a run or HIIT every week. I hate yoga and it hates me. Anyway, I did something today that I've been unable to do for almost a year. I ran for an hour straight. I know, it doesn't sound like much, but I used to run 10-12 miles for my long runs and as my weight increased and my knee pain increased, my mileage went way down. Anyway, I ran 6.7 miles in 60 minutes, so I'm pretty happy. I hope all your programs are going as well as mine!

I hiked 15.5 miles instead of doing Core yesterday. The temperature was very hight, 95F and humid. The trail was quite difficult. I hiked for 4 hours and then did 1 hour Stretch X. I need to shuffle around the workout schedule this week to give my legs a bit of time to recover.
I hope you are all doing well and still pushing play

Hi Everyone,
I can't believe it's almost over. It's been a blast. I have been able to accomplish things that I never thought I would be able to do with this workout and I've seen some amazing results. Things that everyone around me is seeing too. I am still pushing play and I will continue for a second round because I too want to have those defined abs which for us ladies I believe is the hardest part of our body to start to really show definition of the muscles we have developed. Congrats to everyone who continued to push play throughout and thanks for all your support. I hope you all too have had wonderful results.
I believe in the second round I'm going to really have to define the diet portion of this program more. I have to really commit to that part of the program I believe to truly see the amazing results you see in the infomercial. I look forward to hearing how everyone else feels and maybe I'll hear from you all in a second round.

Hi,
I'm too still pushing play. However, I replaced my Saturday workout with a long 3-4hr exhausting hike and instead of Cardio X, I run 10K. It's been great so far. Finally started to see some good results. Still don't follow any diet.

If my math is correct, you guys are all a week ahead, so you should be starting your final rest week next week!
How is everyone feeling? Is anyone going to put up before/after pictures?
I still have a week of work left, but I'm decently satisfied with my results so far. I'm far from ripped, but I would agree that I've never been in better shape. Of course, I didn't stick to the diet guide at all, and I started skipping, and moving, and replacing work outs here and there. So for what I put into it, I'm satisfied with what I got out of it.
I plan on going through it again, maybe not right away, maybe starting 8/24? We'll see.

I am definately satisfied with my results. I am not ripped, but as of today I am down 18 lbs. I was in better shape in highschool but that was because I ran 5-7 miles a day and other such things. Knees don't let me do that anymore, but this is the closest I have been to those days.
I have quite a bit more upper body since then though, so I guess it equals out.
I see these first 90 days as a precursor for my next 90 days. The first set kind of knocked me out of "out of shape" and maybe the next 90 days will actually be getting ripped.
(I think I finally hit the point where I am not building muscle outside of resistance days, because my bodyweight has been going down really fast. Before I think I was still gaining muscle doing normal routines so there was some muscle gain slowing down the overall weight loss. Now its just fat burning for the most part so the weight is goin down!)

Congrats to everyone who stuck with it. I silently dropped out after a month. I feel really bad. It's basically just a bunch of excuses on my part. I'm going to start again on a more frequent basis, but I'm not sure I'm ready to go everyday for as long as I did. 10 hour work days, and tending to the wife is hard, trying to balance so much stuff.
I'm moving to a new place this month, one that has a fitness center on site, and I'll have free access to a nice gym through my wife's new workplace, so I really shouldn't have any excuse to at least do something for an hour, even if it's just running/swimming.
I'm not sure I'm ready to do P90X again, but if anyone is starting on 8/24, I'll stick around to track our progress. Again, congrats to you guys.

It seems towards the end of the program people stopped posting. I am hoping it is because everyone started to make the program their daily routine and didn't need the motivation from here anymore!
Anyways, congratulations to everyone who finished! I ended up missing a few days in the last recovery week so I extended it a little bit and am calling today my last day.
Took my measurements and wow!
Day 1:
Weight: 208.6
Chest: 41
Waist: 42
Hips: 39
R. Thigh: 24.5
L. Thigh: 24
R. Arm: 15
L. Arm: 14
Day 90:
Weight: 188.4 (-20.2)
Chest: 37.5 (-3.5)
Waist: 35 (-7)
Hips: 37 (-2)
R. Thigh: 23 (-1.5)
L. Thigh: 22.5 (-1.5)
R. Arm: 15 (-0)
L. Arm: 14 (-0) (Both of my arms at day 30 went up about an inch, and then dropped back down halfway through phase 3. I believe it is because I gained muscle in both of them to increase diameter, and then lost the fat around them later in the program resulting in a 0 net change)
So I lost 20.2 pounds, and lost 15.5" around the body. I am completely pumped for my next cycle. I believe this first cycle here just got me to where I want to be for starting another cycle. I need some bodyfat calipers to really determine how much more weight I can lose, but I am guessing I could lose maybe another 10 pounds and be good in the 10-12 BF% range.
Regardless of numbers, the amount of energy, and the overall feeling I have for myself now is priceless.
Maybe some of you will be around for cycle #2!
-Tom

Yep, that's me. I have been so busy I've just been plugging away and trying not to fall off the wagon. I've lost 20lbs, but am the same waist size I was when I was 195. (I'm 210 now).
I've pretty much stopped cardio altogether, because I tore two ligaments in my right ankle, and it's torture to move too much.

Well Me and the Ms finished P90X...Last day of legs & back, tweaked a muscle in my back...so recovery week was non existent...did get more cut and see abs coming in...very happy with results but didnt get super cut like I wanted too...I think I gave up too much during exercises and didnt push harder...So will be a round 2 and starting on Monday 8/17...We are going to Jamaica in Oct right at the end of phase 2...so hope to be ready to strut the new me on the beach...
The Ms did well but didnt push much in the last 30 days...so she is starting again and will be doing the lean version in round 2...

Hi Everyone,
I would also like to say congrats to everyone who was able to finish. I finished but, not strong like I would have liked too. I missed a few here and there towards the end. I did see wonderful results. I will be starting another round too. I am going to do the Lean program again since my focus is on the weight loss. I have 10lbs to go for me to be at my weight loss goal.
During the program I was able to start seeing definition in my abs area and some in my arms. My legs are great lots of definition there.
I want to say during the entire program that I used the bands when it called for pull-ups or chin - ups in the program. I do have the Iron man bar installed but, I just could not do a pull up. I can honestly say now that I can do at least 1 pull up. I think the second go round that I will be able to do a lot more pull ups.
Not sure when I am going to start the second round but it will be soon. Look forward to hearing from you all and good luck.
