Yeah, I am definately noticing the ability to be able to stick closer and closer with the crew on the videos.

Monday's ab ripper was almost 100%! I don't know what it was, but I did everything with the group besides the scissors. Those still are brutal. Otherwise, I was with them the entire time, I was pretty pumped.

Same with Plyo today. To me it feels like I am close to 100% with them, but I am still doing the moves that Pam the BLAM does. My knees are kind of touchy, so atleast for now I am close to 100% with the "low impact" version of the moves. I noticed my knees don't hurt as much so I have started doing some of the higher impact moves and staying with them.

The jump where you pull both legs to your chest, the air guitar, and the mary catherine?(the jumping lunges) are really the only ones I still have to modify.

Looking forward to what kind of hell they plan on giving us for Back and Biceps.

On a side note, chest/tricept/shoulder managed to make my arms sore like day 1! I actually kind of missed that. Some reason it really feels like my muscles are building when I get that feeling.

Maybe its the whole muscle confusion thing starting to take effect. Before even the second day of chest/back my arms never got the after soreness. I still brought it, but even when I was at my fatigue point, they never got sore.

Today, they are sore. If this trend continues, I will consistently look forward to the schedule changes at the end of the blocks to feel the pain!

Back and Biceps done.

All I have to say is...corncob pull-ups. Uggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I like this training block better than the first one.

Hope everyone else is still pumped.

(The recovery weeks are needed, but kind of a bittersweet thing. I know some people tend to lose motivation during recovery weeks, so hopefully everyone pushed through it and are ready to bring it again for another 28 days!

Day 30! Don't forget to take your pictures / measurements if you haven't already done so!

Back and Biceps felt like Bicep and Biceps to me. Still, it was alright, and the bands are acceptable for almost all the moves (although I still really need some free weights)

Hi everyone,

I'm glad to hear everyone is still motivated and still pushing play. You guys keep me going. I must say recovery week was nice. I was used to doing the Core because I'm doing the lean program so that wasn't bad for me.

Today, I did Chest and Back for the first time and oh my goodness!!! I didn't know there were so many versions of a push up. It really felt like I started over again. I have to really work on my upper body strenght I thought I was doing really well but, after doing that workout I don't know. I couldn't do a lot of the moves but. I did what I could and as Tony says "Forget the rest".

Keep pushing play folks.

I'll post numbers tomorrow.

haha yea, I take it the lean program hasn't done chest, shoulders and triceps yet? That introduces a whole new set of pushups. And here I thought there was only one way.

So I compared my Day 1 photos with my Day 30 photos. Barely any noticeable change. A bit disappointing, but not that bad. I don't really have much body fat to lose, and I haven't been doing a good job on the diet front, so it's expected. Hopefully Day 60 will yield better results (it usually does).

Awe, it will come!

I guess I was in a good position to see change early. I was in really good shape when I was younger, then in college I got the spare tire that showed up.

So I was "in shape", just had some very targetable fat to burn.

Honestly, the places I have noticed fat loss the most has been my thighs, gut, and arms. I don't know if its my biceps getting bigger, or if its the fat covering them getting smaller, but I can definately see them more clearly now. Same with my quads. I would imagine the inches off the gut was primarily from not eating fat, soda, and 2am meals, lol.

Re:Starting on 5/11/2009 9 Months ago Karma: 4
Wow, I think I just found my first experience with "bonking".

I think it was a combination of not drinking very much water today, mixed with no breakfast and a light lunch, but I about collapsed today in Legs and Back.

I still finished it and brought it with the same numbers as previous weeks, but it was the first week I started to get that dizzy nauseous feeling. Had to kind of hover near the bathroom for a good 2-3 minutes post AbX.

So I guess if you haven't eaten much in the day, push the workout until after you have eaten or it will suffer!

I love the burnt out pain feeling, I hate the dizzy nauseous feeling. The first is a result of a challenging workout, the latter is a result of not doing what you are supposed to in preperation!

Re:Starting on 5/11/2009 9 Months ago Karma: 0
I totally sympathize with the bonking. I bonked yesterday because I knew it was a Yoga day so I ran 5 miles on my lunch break at work, then came back and barely had enough time to grab a protein bar and scarf it down. By the time I got home I felt like I was gonna pass out. I keep crammin food even though I don't really feel like eating, and did cardio everyday this week because I've been so doggone bored at work....

Hopefully the cardio won't be detrimental to the plan. I'm trying to really mix it up, ie... run, swim, bike, racquetball etc... being in the Army, I pretty much have to workout twice a day if I wanna workout at home because I gotta workout every morning mandatory....

Anyway, I took my 30 day pics and noticed some change. However, the tale of the tape was really the story. Lost 4 inches on my waist. Energy level has definitely gone through the roof. I feel better than I look.

Anyway, I swam 30 laps today and I'm damn near bonking again so I'm gonna go eat and try to drag through legs and back.

Later.

Re:Starting on 5/11/2009 9 Months ago Karma: 0
So I've been really bad lately. I've been eating junk (too many home made cookies, cakes, etc) and I HAVEN'T DONE P90X the last 2 days (friday and sat (today). It's really a laziness thing, I just didn't feel like doing it, and I have no time to do it left today. I don't want to fall behind, but at the same time, I don't want to skip anything.

So what do you guys think I should do? Right now I'm thinking of picking up where I left off, doing legs/back tomorrow, then maybe doubling up and doing kenpo tomorrow night. That'd leave me out a rest day (but I've been resting the last 2 days) so I think that'll be ok. One issue is that if I do ARX tomorrow, I shouldn't do it monday, but then I'll be off a day. I'm thinking that since we don't do ARX sat/sun, it'll be ok if I'm off by a day next week (so do ARX tues/thurs/sat) and then be back to being on the correct schedule by for the 3rd week of phase 2.

Re:Starting on 5/11/2009 9 Months ago Karma: 4
My opinion would be to do Kenpo and Stretch X on Sunday and keep going. Write down that you missed the Legs and Back, and move on.

I think stacking that much stuff (legs&back/kenpo) would hurt your next week. You would probably get sore from all of that exercise, then starting monday all of your routines would start to slack since you weren't prepared for the week.

Maybe its just my mindset that could be different, but I think its easier to build muscle than it is to get your cardiovascular system in shape. So I would suggest maybe even doubling up cardio on sunday, then go back to muscles on Monday as usual.

We got knocked off the front page!

Wow, Chest/Shoulders/Triceps was fantastic today. I think that was to the level of "bringing it" that I experienced on day 1. Looked at my sheet from the first time we did the video, and did 3-4 more on every exercise as well as a weight increase. (I may have upset our neighbors too from yelling to get the last few reps! haha)

Arms are complete jello now though.

Hope everyone is still bringing it!

Hey Tom, same experience here! I feel like I am starting over, but I did make it through the whole video, where I missed some last week. I was only able to do2 of the clapping pushups though...was wornout by that point...then ab ripper x did me in! Its KILLER!!

Re:Starting on 5/11/2009 9 Months ago Karma: 0
Yeah, Chest Shoulders Triceps was awesome yesterday. I finally got some cheap pushup bars (10 bucks) and used them on all the exercises it was an option on. All I can say is WOW! I've been doing pushups everyday for 9 years *army* and the pushup bars definitely help bring the pain. I can usually do 50 pushups easy before muscle failure, but with the bars, I was lucky to hit 30.

Love the pushup workout from Tony. My favorite workout by far. ARX worked me over afterwards though.

Weighed in this morning, down 13 lbs. This is too easy.

Re:Starting on 5/11/2009 9 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm such a slacker! This month has been insane. There's always something to do or somewhere to be, leaving me with no time to work out and it makes it REALLY hard to eat healthy. I saw some pretty good results during phase 1, I lost an inch off my hips and my waist and lost 6 lbs. I started with you guys on 5/11 but ended up repeating my recovery week since I only worked out once during week 4 due to a family emergency. I miss working out but i feel like i'm losing speed. Have any of you fallen off the workout wagon and jumped back on???

I need some motivation. I'm not counting the days anymore, but I am counting the workouts. I have 58 to go. My next workout is supposed to be Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. I hear it's CRAZY. I'm glad to see there's still some of you hitting it hard. Keep it up!!

Re:Starting on 5/11/2009 9 Months ago Karma: 4
Its kind of strange, but when I miss a workout, it feels like I skipped work, or was playin hookie or something. This huge guildtrip starts forming, haha.

Yesterday my fiance's parents were in town and they took us out to eat. Actually managed to eat pretty well in a resteraunt. The part that sucked, was having to do Plyo starting at like 8pm last night. Granted doing it after the not so healthy dinner, was probably better to help burn off some of those calories.

So for the entire program I think I have only missed 4 days, but they were all in the recovery week. Missed 2 stretching, 1 yoga, 1 core. Haven't missed any of the actual training blocks, so I think I am still in pretty good shape. I will be doing another cycle or just continue doing the workouts after the first 90 days anyways, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
