I love being drenched in sweat after a good workout. The workouts are getting easier, chest and back is a still a nightmare for me but I did better this week than I did last week, that's all I can ask for! Keep it up!
81 more days!
In my opinion, I wouldn't ever suggest "quitting" in the middle of any of the workouts. You can take breaks and modify, but its to your benefit to finish them in entirety. If you can barely move, take a 45s breather with some water, but don't drink TOO much or you will feel it really badly.
Stopping dead cold in the middle of the workout almost negates everything you just did.
Unless of course, you start to feel sick or full of pain.
The first time I did plyo I got extremely light-headed and had to stop with about 10 minutes to go. I fast forwarded to the stretches.
But yea, too much water, ugh!

Wow, I feel like I'm cruising. This week is definitely been easier than last week. I just finished Shoulders arms and back and the AB Ripper. It felt wonderful. I was able to do more reps with AB Ripper too.
Hope everyone else had a wonderful workout. Keep pushing play.

Shoulders and Biceps done.
I am continuing my trial like I did on back and chest. Since my arms are so incredibly different in strength, I have been toning back the workouts and putting everything at the "max" of my weaker arm.
(For instance, my right arm can do 45lbs curls, while my left can barely do 10lbs. So my right arm isn't getting much for a workout, but hopefully since I am tailoring it to my left arm, they will start to get closer in strenth. Being skewed in arm strength really messes with a lot of exercises, so I am putting everything at the weight that my left can handle so I can retain form.
So far, it has been amazing for results. My arm measurement for my left has already gone up half an inch. )

Today's stuff is done. Increased a few moves in weight from last week, but not drastic. Little gains on a couple.
Ab Ripper X is definitely getting easier, but a few of the moves are still killer for me (The first 3 in particular, plus Fifer scissors). My lower back just starts burning so bad. I've found that using my arms for some slight support on heels to heaven and scissors helps me actually get through the move, but I'm trying to be cautious so I'm actually working at it, instead of just using all of my arm strength.
I feel good. Tomorrow I should be tackling yoga in a class. My wife bought me a yoga mat. Should be fun. Or at least interesting.

Woo, can you believe we're 1.5 weeks in?! This week is going sooooo much better for me. I'm still pushing myself just as hard, if not harder than last week, but the soreness is gone! Last week, I literally could not walk for 2 days after plyo, this week, nothing! No soreness at all! and I felt the burn / sweat like crazy during it.
I have the green/blue/black bands, but I think I might buy the lowest set of 3 they offer (pink/purple/red i think). Some of the shoulders & arms exercises, namely the flys and swimmer's press, I can't stretch the green band over my head, and don't get the full benefit of the workout. I also want to find some weights, for things like the tricep extensions, which are a pain in the butt with bands (I used to do these at the gym with a bar and it worked me).
About the water, as people have mentioned, too much and you can cramp up / end up feeling like you want to puke. I've done spinning classes for a while, and I've always found that I needed water when the back of my throat would dry up. I'd only drink enough, for that to go away, and I've never had a problem with it. If you think you are drinking too much water, try getting a water bottle that lets less water out (I use a nalgene, which lets way too much water out, I drank too much water the first p90x day).
Definitely not looking forward to yoga tomorrow. It's just way to repetitive for my liking, and I can't get my head in. We'll see how it goes.
One last thing. I've notice my flexibility starting to improve! I've noticed a few times I've been able to reach my toes (formerly impossible, for my whole life) and if I can't, I can "fight for every millimeter" and end up gaining a lot of progress. Probably the thing I'm most excited about this far through.
That's all for now (I wrote an essay, sorry). Don't forget to bring it!

I started using a rolled up towel under my back for fifer scissors and heels to heaven. I think it is a bit of a cheat, but my back was really sore after those 2 exercises.
I was really tired from work last night and had to really force myself to do the workout. It got better after 10 min and by the end, I was enjoying myself. Now I have to figure out how to enjoy yoga X

Ugh, I don't know what I'm going to have to do to enjoy yoga. It just gets under my skin, I can't clear my mind and I get into a foul mood. I ended up skipping a large chunk in beginning because it was too aggravating.

I know exactly what you mean. It is the same for me but, I keep pushing the play and I just do the best I can and you know what forget the rest. It almost feels like your head will explode if you have to do another downward dog.
It is getting better. I made it through it and I only had to pause it a few times because I was sweating so bad I thought I would pass out.
Just keep pushing play. It gets better.

I found it kind of sad that Yoga's first 30 minutes is almost more of an arm workout than the ARM MUSCLE VIDEO.
The first 30min or so is the only part I have problems with on Yoga otherwise I enjoy the stretching and balance. Its just all the:

Lol, the repitition drives me nuts because its the move that I have trouble with because my arms get so tired doing it. I imagine once my arms get stronger, that it won't be as bad.

Man do I know what yall mean....the yoga x is killer...I made it through the whole dvd for the first time tonight...although I couldnt hang completely with every exercise, I made it to the end....I am hoping that I will be able to hang throughout all of it soon....and all of the videos...I seem to be doing a little better each time so far though, and I know that I need all the stretching...I am so stiff!

exactly tom c. That whole never ending banyasa upward dog downward dog, do a pushup if you want, runners, pose, over and over and over and over and over. That's what I skipped through today, I just didn't have the patience or muscle endurance (or time, I hate that yoga x is longer than any other p90x workout)

Well, I missed the yoga class, so I just stuck the DVD in.
I got through most of the grueling vinyasa, downward dog, but couldn't make it toward the end. Most of the balance stuff was really hard for me too. But... I did get through way more than last week, so I would call it a small success. I do feel better now though, still a little shaky I guess.
I'm also VERY inflexible and a lot of my abdominal fat gets in the way of some of the poses. I've got quite a large gut and it just gets in the way! Hopefully by the end of this program I'll have most of it gone!
Also, I'm still having a lot of trouble swinging my leg up for runner's pose. My legs are way too fat to get them all the way up it seems.

I had a friend come over and do Yoga X with me and that made a huge difference.
We pushed ourselves to finish and made sure each of us was doing the moves correctly.

I have a confession. My diet hasn't been perfect. I haven't been eating junk, and it's all been fairly healthy stuff (with the exception of the pretzels yesterday which weren't too bad). My wife makes most of my food, so I generally just eat what she gives me, but it hasn't had enough protein. I've been getting way more carbs than protein. I need to correct this.
I still feel like I'm losing fat and gaining some muscle though.

Yeah I have definately noticed a difference even this early in.
I could kind of see a difference so I did some measurements and sure enough! Change has happened!
Biggest things I noticed was:
1/2" larger on my left bicep (my weak arm, so wooo!)
-3" off my waist
Cutting out almost all fat and workout out every day tends to burn bodyfat apparently!

Just found this forum. Cool to see some others in pain like me.
I finished back and legs today followed by Ab Ripper X. Was actually able to do like 85 percent of ARX today. The first day, I couldn't do 25 reps of ANYTHING. So, I'm pretty happy about that. My diet has been spot on as well so I'm looking forward to my weighin this month!
Is anyone else gettin wicked gas from the diet change?
