I wanted to post my opinion to you guys about recovery drinks. I have a good suggestion if anyone is on the fence about which one to buy; p90x brand or another. I bouth the "TWINLAB" Endurance Fuel which has a 4:1 Carb-protein ratio. 35servings and it's on sale for 25 bucks at Vitamine Shoppe. It's almost the same formula. Taste pretty darn good too .

I thought it wasn't a problem as long as you kept the ratio of 1g of protein for every lb. So I weigh around 140 right now, and am taking in about 130g of protein, when doing my 4 shakes a day. So, I thought I was in the green but I think I'm going to switch it up and only use 4 scoops in the morning, and 3 scoops before workout, and then a recovery drink after the workout.
I don't think I'm going to do the night shake anymore, seeing as it may be causing me problems, or if I do, only use like 1.5 scoops.

You're supposed to do 1g of protein for every kilogram, not pound (1.5-2g per kg for extreme athletes/bodybuilders)! You weigh around 64 kg, so you should not exceed roughly 90g per day.

California born and raised. Livin in Mission viejo!
Side note . . . I REALLY REALLY REALLY HATE YOGA!! Can anyone tell me something else I could do instead of this? I literally get extremely bored and lose the want to work out! Plyo and Kempo are fine, but Yoga really bores the !#$% out of me!
I'll be posting up pictures soon. I forgot to take my before pics, so I'll just take my 6 days in pictures. Keep in mind . . I'm still mad skinny! hahaha, so my goal is to get to normal size and by muscle mass . . . not fat!

Hey GLoBaLReBeL
I ran out of time for Yoga today. At least thats what im telling myself. And I almost didnt workout today too. But I squeezed in CardioX and that was a great workout. I think it has enough Yoga for me. But next week Ill do the entire 1.5 HOURS of YogaX.
Keep it up everyone!!!

Did some more research on fat burning because I was concerned my calories might be too low. I was shooting for the 800-1200 Cal per day mark in order for me to burn 2.5 lbs per week.
This is a good, easy to understand site for burn rate:
http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/advice/calculate-calories-bmr
If I use their calculations, I should consume 1055-1318 Cals to burn 2 lbs per week. So I think I will try to stay at 1000 cals per day, more on Pylo days (1300 or so). I should be able to get close to my goal of losing 50 lbs by next April. It's all in the math, folks.
Women have a bear of a time losing weight (esp middle aged women). I've tried some other methods to no avail. This calorie restriction plus intensive exercise appears to be working...for now.
And yes, I'm hungry. Now. And most of today. And yesterday. And the day before that...

Decatur, IL, although was born in and lived in Mission Viejo, CA until I was 16.
Regarding Yoga... I started it today (I didn't do it last week because I just didn't want to), but got about 15 - 20 minutes in and decided it was for the birds.
I popped in Cardio X and discovered the workout I'll be doing on Yoga days. It has some yoga in the warm up, and mixture of plyo, kenpo, etc... I really liked it. Kicked my butt.

Day 5 complete! Two things I have learned, I am aweful at yoga-x and terrible at the ab ripper-x...everything else I BROUGHT IT!
Newbie Supplement Tip - I have a read a few post about people taking supplements, mixing it with a spoon. This will make life a lot easier for you if you take whey protein and/or the p90x recovery drink...buy a shaker for $5-$7 at walmart, gnc, etc...
For those that do not know what it is, it's usually a clear cup that marks the ounces so you know how much milk/water you need and it also has a filter-type object in the middle that breaks up the powder so the drink taste smooth. It's so much easier than putting it into a blender, electric mixer, and taste better than a drink mixed with a spoon.
Also, most (probably all) supplements do not have the greatest taste but you start to enjoy them after awhile so try to fight through the first couple of weeks if you are thinking of giving up on them.

Ok, I am 5’11” weighing in at 220lbs with 18% body fat. My plan was to follow the nutrition plan to a tee but it was telling me I could consume about 3200 calories. I have read on the beachbody’s forum that the calorie mark is to maintain weight so if you are looking to drop some poundage(and fat), you could decrease 500-700 calories from it. So, if you minus 500-700 calories from 3200, my target is 2500-2700 calories per day. I am not even close, I have been averaging 1700-1800 calories a day and I am fulfilling all of my portions, usually leaving out a snack. I was concerned about not even coming close so I posted multiple threads on this forum as well as beachbody’s forum to get opinions on whether or not I should consume more. Pretty much everyone claimed I need to eat more so I started to throw down another veggie burger at dinner but I am still unable to break 2000 calories. I feel full throughout the day and I have plenty of energy so I just can not make myself eat more. I was concerned that I was not doing my body justice and was contemplating if I should force down another 500-700 calories…this would take work.
Finally, I read a post by a member of this forum, he showed his before and after pics in which he saw fantastic results. I was relieved when I read his comment “I was supposed to eat about 2700 calories and I never came close, i averaged about 1600”.
He also replied this to a comment I left him, again the nutrition plan said I should have 3200…
“Listen to your body, Not everyone fits into the cookie cutter nutrition. I found what worked for me. I did not eat high calorie snacks. If 1800-2000 works, you feel great, have lots of energy and are not hungry you are fine.”
I just wanted to share this because I have been struggling with this issue all week until I read this last night. I am going to continue to do what I am doing…which is listen to my body and not force food down to hit my calorie mark.
PaulyP is the guy, here is the link of his before and after pics

I gotta get myself to weighing in every week, havent done that yet aned were already 1.5 weeks into this thing. I was suppose to do Yoga X last night but sorry, Im a huge Dolphins fan so had to watch the football game, which we won! YES!!! lol.
Yeah thats another question I had, Im not a big fan of the Yoga X......I actually get discouraged and lose my will for working out because of it, can I replace it with Cardio X or Core Synthetics????? I know one of you asked that earlier on but was wondering if anyones done that. I find myself bored and frustrated with Yoga 30 mins in.
Also I remember some of us having problems keeping our energy up after work to get the workouts done......... I just started taking Organic Wheat Grass and while I won't sit here and lie to you guys that it tastes amazing......with 8oz of OJ in the morning, it is an energy boost. Can take it from 1-3 times a day and it does give you an all natural lift and it promotes alot more health wise than just energy. Just in case if any of you are wondering about it.....
Also I brought up the subject of AfterGlow, its a great recovery drink and its alot cheaper online, found it about 25 dollars cheaper online....... FYI
Keep it up guys! Legs and Back today and Abs, FML!!

If you feel great, why struggle to change it. I think listening to your body is the best advice. I, on the other hand, consume about 2700 calories a day (I'm 5'9 175lbs) and struggle to fall below it - really got used to eating many small portions throughout the day, and find myself consuming more protein than I should be getting (though I feel fine). I'm not looking to lose weight though - if anything, maintain, and gain slightly to 180lbs.

DCandales, can you send a link of the AfterGlow - I'm interested in trying it out. The wheatgrass is a good suggestion also, I hear good things about it (a shot of it costs $3 in juice bars).
I substituted Yoga X for Cardio X yesterday, and wasn't too impressed with it. I broke a sweat, but could have burned many more calories with Kenpo X. I think I'll do that next week.
How strict are you all on diet? I can't seem to get lower than 50% carbs. It seems I already overdo it on the protein (according to livestrong.com, I usually consume 150-200% of my daily intake of protein).

I was struggling to change it because most people were trying to convince me that I need to eat more or my body would burn muscle as energy...which nobody wants.
I agree with you and PaulyP, I am going to let my body dictate what I should eat...paulyp has the results to back it up.
