Ha! I know that feeling all too well. It will be like that for awhile. I finished a round...putzed around for a couple of months and now back into it. I am sooooo sore!

Knocked out plyo today...first time that I didn't have to use the pause button. Heart rate was up a bit, but over all the workout was good. I know I push plyo good when I feel like throwing up when I finish. : )

Hope everyone else is sticking to it!!!!

Knocked out S&A + ARX. I liked this one - I'm a fan of upper body strength training and there were a lot of new moves that I'd never done before. I can tell my triceps are going to be crazy sore tomorrow (I had trouble washing my hair in the shower.) ARX wasn't as bad this time, but mainly because I focused on good form over reps. I did about 15 reps per movement, and I felt it a lot more than Monday. I'm going to continue to do that and just progress to more reps as I go.

My hip flexors are STILL the most sore part on my body. I wonder if it because I've never focused on them in previous ab workouts, or these workout just hit them particularly hard. Hopefully I can walk around tomorrow and not look like I just met Rufus in lockdown...

My diet was good, kinda. I ate too many carbs and not enough protein. I'm finding that 50% protein is really tough, especially when my protein mix has 17g of carbs (and I loooove vegetables.) I have planned out my menu tomorrow, and my %s are much better. By the way, 1 more shout-out to "My Plate" on LiveStrong.com. I honestly think this forum and that site are the keys to success in something like this.

Okay - I'm done rambling. Need to get some rest so I can bring it on some Yoga!

Whats up everyone?!

Dang the shoulders and arms were intense. Have any of you experienced any stomach cramps from AbX? On Monday I started to feel a lower abdominal cramp and stopped after Crunchy Frogs. So today I decided to do regular situps, which works out my mid abs more. After 25 situps I decided to take a minute break. As soon as I started the situps again! I thought I was going to pass out from the cramp. My entire mid section felt as if it had folded in half. I was on the floor trying to stretch out my stomach for about 5 minutes. It finally went away. Any tips? I really want to get into ab workouts but now I kinda fear that pain from hell.

This is soooo cool that everyone is really active on this thread. You can just read the PUMP everyone is on from P90X.... BRING IT, BRING IT!

BLKSKY - The only time I get that cramped is if I drink too much water. I got that way Tuesday in Plyo and had to stop. Did you drink a lot of water or eat before ARX?

I guess I did drink a lot of water during arms and shoulders..... Probably about 3/4 of an old 2 liter water bottle. So you too have had that horrific cramp? Maybe I should try to do my abs later in the day. Ill keep my water intake on Friday to a minimum and try it again. Yeah that cramp would not give.

Thanks for the advise!

So Shoulders & Arms didn't go so bad for me although both of my rotator cuffs click, but I am not sure if I used the proper weight. I have a set of 40lb dumbbells, 20lbs on each side, along with 2 8lb weights and did most of the biceps exercises using 20lbs, and only 8lb on tricep extensions (used these because of convenience, didn't want to spend much time resting and readjusting my weights). I don't feel much soreness in my triceps so I think I have to just suck it up and readjust my dumbbells each time.

How do you all deal with changing weights on your dumbbells? Do most of you have the SelectTech adjustable dumbbells, or do you pause the video and spend a minute or two readjusting?

I'm not sure about most of you, but for some reason my chest continues to hurt more today and yesterday from Monday's Chest & Back exercise (perhaps the dips from S&A exacerbated the pain). As a matter of fact, my chest is the only muscle that is sore (aside of my left hamstring that I probably pulled during Plyo).

I don't have to change weights - the best girlfriend in the world got me these for my birthday.

But... If I didn't have those, I'd probably re-adjust mid workout. You have 2 options, (1) get a little too much rest or (2) get an incomplete workout due to incorrect weights. I'd take 1, personally.

That's a nice set she gave you. How did your hands feel after Congdon curls? Personally, whenever I would turn my fists to face each other when coming down from the curl, I could feel my hand being scratched up by the dumbbell. Not pleasant at all.

Hey everyone! Looks like we have a few more people joining our group!! This is great! I'm glad this is turning out to be a gathering for people to get encouragement and share thoughts! This is why I join message boards!

I've got C&B, ABX, Kempo, and S&A all under my belt so far. I'm going to do the Yoga tonight, I'm just worried that doing Yoga on my carpet is going to take away from the experiance. I have hardwood floors, but I have no TV in my family room, and only in my bedroom. So, its a little hard to get a completely flat surface. Has anyone else been doing it on their carpet?

I can tell you that as the days go on, my muscles are getting used to working out again. The first day of C&B I couldn't move my arms at all the day after, but now after doing S&A I'm much more refreshed. I'm taking tons of protein shakes (1 in the morning, 1 in the evening after work, one right after workout, and one before bed!) I think that's been a big help with my recovery every day. I'll be popping into this thread in a few days and will really start to get into it starting monday next week! Good luck everyone.

mp2437 - I use gloves. I can't stand lifting even 5lbs without them.

GLoBaLReBeL - I'm glad you're feeling better. Personally, I feel runover by a MACK truck. I always get like this when I first start a routine. I will be fine this time next week. Until then, I subscribe to the "No Pain, No Gain" mantra and keep rockin' it!

good morning! just finshed yoga. i hated it at first, but now i really look forward to it (this is my 4th time).

i have only been doing yoga on my carpet! don't really notice too much difference from when i do some stretching on the floor.... if you have a laptop maybe you can bring it in the family room to see if there's a difference? (i watch the workouts using a laptop)

i also took my before pictures last night... eeeek!!!! total motivation to get up early today and do the workout....

have a great day!

Did shoulders and arms yesterday, but perhaps I took it too easy yesterday because I don't feel much of a burn today. I'm using resistance bands, so I think it's gonna take me some time to get use to those and to know what resistance to use get the best workout. I feel some soreness in my arms, but I think some of that is from chest and back on Monday.

And my quads are absolutely killing me from doing Plyo two days ago. It is so painful to walk downstairs right now...but a good kind of pain.

Definitely looking forward to Yoga tonight. I know it's not gonna be easy and I'll probably sweat like a maniac, but it sounds like you feel a whole hell of a lot better once it's over.

I know how you feel about the quads. My soreness is also like yours, 2 days behind. I guess that means that my arms and shoulders are going to be really sore tomorrow, because I went all out of S&A.

Keep on truckin' though. I've read many sources that point to Potassium as one of the best ways to fight lactic acid build up in muscles. Too bad it's hard to get without carbs.

Re:Starting November 9th . . . who wants to join?! 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Everyone, great job you all are doing. I love everyone reporting in and sharing. I did yoga yesterday, and for someone who has never done it, it was pretty hilarious. My kids were cracking up at me, and I about broke a wrist trying to do that dang crane position! I did find it kinda boring and loooooong, but it made me sweat like a pig, so I know it is worth it. I probably like this workout the least, but I must say today I feel much less sore than before. I too was having soreness in my sides and legs. When I did arms the other day, I didn't have too much soreness, so I think I need to up the weights. I was using 8 lbs and 10 lbs. I would have upped them during the workout, but I don't have 12s, 15s or anything in the 20's right now, and I know the 35s I have are waay to much to start with. I might try bands next time to adjust the resistance until I get more weights.

Is anyone using the bands in lieu of the pull up bar? I was thinking of trying that today when I do my leg workout because I think I can get more reps in that way than using my leg to help me on the bar. I'm getting ready to do abs right now because I just got back from a mountain bike ride and think I should do the leg routine later on this evening when I've rested more.

Keep up the great work everyone! Tomorrow is KenpoX for me and then my first rest day which I will be spending in wine country riding my road bike. Then back to chest, my biggest challenge, on Sunday. By the way, there ain't no way in heck I am posting my before pics until I have some good enough results to be proud of

Cheers,
Irene

Oh, and I wanted to add that I do plan on posting some pictures up. I don't technically start the program until this coming Monday, though, so I will post it up around that time. Not sure how often I'll be updating the photo's though....maybe once a week, once a month? Not really sure

Whew! Just completed legs and back. I feel pretty wiped but I think it's because I only had 700 calories yesterday. Need to go to the store and get some groceries!

I thought about using the bands instead of doing the pull up bar but I love the challenge of one day being able to do a full pull up (where you start from the dangle position and pull your chin all the way over the bar). Most women on Planet Earth can't do that. I was able to do it at one point in my life and it's one of the little goals that motivate me for some reason.

I am having a lot of soreness in my upper traps above the shoulder and back of the neck. Any one else feeling this?

Oh, and I lost a pound! Yay!

Man you guys seem to have been busy! lol. I didnt fall off the planet, been doing the workouts on schedule and eating a clean diet (which suxxxxx lol) I got Yoga tonight.........I've done it once before so yeah I know, it makes you twist in ways you didnt even think the human body could twist in. I was thinking of throwing it in on Sunday mornings, heard it suppose to be good for the body, but this is the first week so I dont know how much longer this hangover of soreness that fills my body will last.

I read that the first month instead of doing it for 3 weeks could be extended to even 5 weeks if I wanted to. I might extend it to 4 weeks, I wasnt impressed with some of the numbers I did on some of the other exercises (especially pull ups) so might extend it a week.....anybody else doing that???

Hey, tailgate food doesn't have to be that bad. Just throw some chicken on the grill and some bbq sauce...you'd be knocking out some of our protein and condiment portions right there.
