Hey all, I started on June 11th and recently found this forum while googling something. I've been reading along and you all are doing great! I'm new to the fitness thing... 34 years old and haven't been in shape since high school. I'm finishing up week 6 now, and so far I've lost 9 lbs, 2 inches on my beer belly, 1 inch on my chest (deflating the "moobs" :D) and gained a half inch on my arms.

I'll start posting with you all to keep myself motivated! Keep fighting the good fight!

Alobar, Welcome aboard. There are three of us posting on a routine basis. It would be great to have another member on the team. Sounds like your results are fantastic! I am about the same....

JB, are you getting acid reflux or eating too close to the workout? I have reflux and I have to take Prilosec OTC every other day otherwise I do burp up or feel the food coming back up.

Robert,

I have to watch what I eat....I had a spicy italian sub from subway and it about killed me while working out. No serious acid reflux stuff. Several years ago I restructured my diet and that cured that problem for me. For a long time I had a large bottle of tums next to the bed. Not anymore.

On the road again. Felt like crap yesterday and slept for about 13 hours....missed the yoga workout but will make it up tomorrow. Had legs and back today and did really well. I have to use the bands (which I can't stand) and did the best I could with the pull up exercises. I concentrated on squeezing the rep out...ended up doing like 30 reps for all the pull up exercises. I can't seem to get the tension right...I keep moving further and further back. Rocked all the leg stuff though. Felt great! I am definitely a ton stronger going into week 8. Diet hasn't been too shabby....went to the store and bought some lean cuisines. Between that and bars I am controlling my calorie intake. Need to push it out tomorrow to get back on track with the exercises.

Re:Starting June 6th 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Began week 7 today with tri/shoulder/chest. I started trying to mix some regular pushups in... so far I've been on my knees for them but busting out decent reps. I managed to go up a weight on the selecttechs for a few exercises and bump up or stay even with last week's reps on the others, which is all I ever hope for.

I'm up to 18 reps of each exercise on ARX. Pretty good when you consider I had a real struggle doing 10 reps at the beginning for most exercises and couldn't even do a couple of the ARX moves properly at all.

I had my first "night off" yesterday. I met a few friends at a Belgian beer cafe in Philly for our seasonal gathering. I limited myself to 3 beers (of course, they were strong and heavy belgian beers...)and had a relatively healthy meal, but I'm sure I went over on my calorie intake by a good 400-500 yesterday. I think I've earned it by not straying for the first 6 weeks!

Stay the course with your diets! btw, How does the lean cuisines taste?

Im upping the weights to match 8-10 reps. I feel it working better now. After back and biceps, my muscles in my forearms felt tight against the skin.

Fantastic work by both of you! Diet, diet, diet is the key to life right now. I am not the best at it, but working hard to do my best. Made some great gains. Lower body is sore from yesterday...that is a good thing!

Re:Starting June 6th 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1
I'm back and I just finished chest/shoulders/tri and abrx. The vacation was nice. The smoky mountains are one of this country's great treasures, beautiful and we camped next to a crystal clear water creek. That's the good.

The bad is I had a rough time with diet. My wifes's uncle bring a grill and they cook eggs, bacon, grits, pancakes every morning in bulk. evening meals are no different with hambugers, spaghetti, fried ham, turkey and dumplings. Anyway I did do some exercise on Tues and Wednesday. They have a store 5.7 miles from the camp and those days I ran/walked to and from the store. I noticed my cardiovascular endurance has greatlyu improved. I ran the majority of the way up and down hills and when I stopped running I could catch my breath quickly. Anyway I haven't had the strength to get on the scale, but I feel like I've gained 3-4 lbs.

The workout tonight was good but I had trouble with keeping the number of reps on pushups and had to go to the knees for some. It is good to start again and I was worried about my motivation, but bits good to see JB, Robert still going strong. I'm essentially on week 7 but I'll still keep up with you guys. I see Alobar has joined aus and looks to be on schedule with me now. Welcome.

I feel bad about taking a rest week next week and I may incorporate some extra workouts, I don't know yet. Good to be back and good to be halfway done.

Re:Starting June 6th 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hey guys! How is everything going? I got back from Alabama on Friday. The week was rough on the workout and I missed a day with not feeling well. I doubled up on Friday and caught up. Today I started yoga and wasn't feeling the love...I swapped to core synergistics and really just gutted it out. Not much motivation but I force my way through it. I will do the yoga workout tomorrow to get back on track. I weighed in today at 212...lost another 4 pounds...12 to go. I was thrilled.

Heading out on a 2 week vacation this coming Saturday. It has been a source of stress. I will be taking everything with me but can't guarantee all the workouts. However, I will not just chuck two months of work...I will absolutely being doing my best to make the workouts...hard days will be during the driving days...those will be minimal. I am going to cut the recover week short by 3 days to start week 9 on Wednesday. I really want to get the first three days of the week (i feel are the hardest) done with before the drive. What do you guys think?????

Chuck, Sounds like it was a great experience camping out in the mountains. Hopefully Ill get to see it in my lifetime OK it was 1 week but the important thing is for you to get back on track and continue where you left off. It might be a good idea to get in extra cardio on the recovery week to try to burn off those extra lbs.

JB, good job on the weight loss. Lately Ive been feeling tired. My worst workout are anything to do with my thighs. I just hate that burn and sometimes I just feel like stopping. Its tough love. This weeks weigh in I only lost 1/2 a lb. I did stray off my diet a few days so I had a feeling this might happen. It's funny how your body reacts to food. If I eat natural foods, I feel great. But as soon as I eat white bread, normal pasta etc.. I can feel Ive eaten wrong. You start to feel sluggish, bloated.

Re:Starting June 6th 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hey all! I've been a busy bee with work, but managing to keep up with the diet and workouts this week. Yesterday did bi/back and arx, and grunted to 19 reps on most arx moves... definitely feeling it a bit today! I'm starting to look forward to the pain now, which is a strange feeling

I hurt my wrist a while back doing the dreya roll (won't be doing that particular move again!) so I've been replacing yoga x with cardio x on sundays. The small bit of yoga during cardio x has been ok on the wrist, but doing 45 minutes back and forth to plank would kill me.

Took some measurements after workout today, and so far here's my total progress:

chest: 41.5(at start of p90x)->40.5 (but much more movement there when i flex!)
waist: 41->38
arms: 14->14.5
weight: 202->194(stayed the same this week... but lost a half inch on my waist so I'm not complaining!)

JB, if your body feels up to it, go ahead and cut the recovery week short. As for the driving days, just do your best and forget the rest! If you stop at a hotel to sleep, do a workout there if you can. Even if you don't have a dvd player, bring the sheets and do your best from memory. And don't worry, you won't be throwing 2 months of work away if you come back to it after vacation... only if you give up on it! Keep it up bro!

Robert, I have a hard time with the thigh burn too but just keep pushing and grunt through it. Last time i did legs/back was the first time I felt good, and not burnt after the warm up lunges... so I know the legs are getting stronger!

Alobar, great results!!!!!! SUCCESS!!!!!! Keep pushing it...I understand about the wrist. My right wrist has had issues for years from doing pushups and I have to be careful. Both of them are really sore, but I am still working hard. Thanks for the advice on the vacation. I am feeling pretty good today...tired...but feeling good.

Did yoga today with my 9 year old daughter. That was fantastic!!!!! Yoga is so much more tolerable when you have someone with you. I am thinking I am going to sync with my wife to do yoga with her.

All of you are doing great!!!!! Not that much more to go!
Have any of you started thinking about what to do after the 90 days? I am thinking about taking a week off and starting again. I have 90X+ and also the one on one videos coming in....I have to say...I am addicted.

P90X takes up a lot of time for me. When I finish this round, Im going to take a break and probably start round 2 after the new year. I have to work on my company's new website and it requires a lot of work. But during that time off, ill stay on my diet for sure! Every other day I will probably do cardio, ABX, and work on mastering pull ups unassisted!

On the road again...had a great Kenpo workout before flying out. Will be back home tomorrow...stretch X and then starting phase 3 on Wednesday.

I am pretty sure I will start another round a couple weeks after this one is over. Looking to get those great gains that most that are already athletic are getting. I am definitely drinking the kool aid.

Whew! Started phase 3 today and feel great! Killed chest and back. It was amazing...I compared day one chest and back results with today's....I blew it away!!!!!! Amazing how much stronger I am. Did pretty good on ARX...I still have a heck of a time with pulse ups. Working hard still. I had to push up the start of phase 3 due to vacation starting on Saturday...needed to get the three hardest workouts done before I hit the road.

How is everyone else doing?

That's awesome JB. I can't wait to start phase 3. I'm finishing up week7 and have to admit that after that week off I'm sluggish. I thin k getting to phase 3 will recharge me some but have to admit 90 days is a long time. I will complete it though. I am becoming leaner and feel great about the progress I'm making. This is a monster work week so time to post is limited.

JB, what is the one one one series you've mentioned. I would like something to do after this, but I don't think I can do a series as intense as this. P90x, work and family are hard to juggle and my wife has been understanding, but we have 4 young kids and I can't take 1-2 hours a day for exercise forever.

Chuck, Keep pushing it! You will find your rhythm again soon...just have to burn some goo. I sent you an email about some potential options for you.

Completed arms and shoulders today! Great workout and really pushed hard. Heading out tomorrow on a 2 week driving vacation. Pull up bar is packed in the van!!!!! I am planning on doing my absolute best to keep in the game. My plan is to get up super early to knock out yoga and then drive from Tampa to Mississippi tomorrow. Whew!

How is everyone else doing? Seeing big results yet?

I will check this message board as I can on the road.

Good job guys! Keep it up. JB enjoy the vacation.

Finishing up this weekend of phase 2. Starting Phase 3 Monday! Cant wait to push harder and increase more weights. I weigh in tomorrow but I know I lost some weight as my pants/shorts feel looser. Had vietnamese food last night. Not my cup of tea but I admit is is healthy and not heavy on sodium.

Stick to your diet! and make Phase 3 count!!

Re:Starting June 6th 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 2
Phase 2 complete. Im surprised with the results.

Weight: 213lbs originally, now 198lbs, total 15lbs lost.
Pant size: 38 originally, now 34. Is that 2 or 4 sizes down? I dont know.
Body Fat: 25% using tape measure method online.

Comparing with before and 60day pictures, I see a slight difference in muscles but the biggest change is around my belly. Its getting slimmer and some areas are more toned. Phase 3 here we go!

It almost seems like you’ve found the holy grail of fat loss when you start reading about this program.  The weight loss program seems to have the ability to induce strict weight loss in your body while at the same time giving you the choice to eat all of the foods that you love.  Anyone that has looked at these types of programs before will feel intense suspicion instead of a sense of wonder, but both feelings are going to be very strong in nature.  The rest of this article will comment on the program, allowing you to decide for yourself whether this program is worth your time.
