Question about Hand Brace 9 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I have been doing p90x for a week now.....I had broken my had about 10 years ago and after starting this program, I have found that I don't have a lot of strength in my hand when trying to do push ups and pull ups. It actually has been hurting since I've tried doing those moves. Wanted to know if there is anyone else who has damage like that to their hand and if so, can you recommend a type of brace or something like that that seems to help you.

Thanks!!

Do you use push-up bars? Whats happening is that all of your weight is being forced on your joints. Braking your hand could have made them weaker. There are braces out there, the ones with splints will not work because of flexibility. I would try push-up bars plus use a sports wrap around your hand and wrist. Wrap it tight but not tight where it cuts off circulation. The wrap will provide a little support.

If it still hurts I would stop and do not press on. Despite how little it may seem, it can turn into a bigger thing. Talk to a doctor about what your trying to do and see what he recommends.
