I am ready to start on Nov. 1st if anyone is interested.
Have been doing lots of reading. On both the workouts and nutrition plan. Lots of great information on YouTube, if your not sure on something. Also, this Board is crammed with great information. Now it is time to start doing.
Have been working out to get ready for Fit Test,("unfit test" in my case),which I will do on 10/31/09, Sat., day before.
I was impressed with how quick the program arrived via UPS. Program is layed out nice. Downloaded workout sheets & the Excel spreadsheet.
I am really stoked to get this thing going! I know it is a tough time of the year to start & all that crap. No more excuses for me!
I am getting this done!

Well grats to taking a big step in your life towards nutrition and fitness. Just make sure to bring it and push yourself during your workouts to the point of not being able to get up off the floor. Also use the nutrition guide, following it will mean result city!

I will also be starting P90X with one of my buddies this weekend. Some background info: We are both 24. We are both former college/highschool athletes and have been working out for years at a gym and were looking for something to get us is seriously good shape after a couple of years of being somewhat lazy at the gym. Hopefully we can start a group and track our progress with others on the board. Looking forward to seeing what happens!

Possibly a Nov. 2009 Group is the way to go. Not everyone can start on the same day. We can certainly share our experiences/challenges/victories etc. along the way, even being off a day or two from each other's start date.
I like to keep things simple & look forward to helping each other!

I will start November 1st with you. I have already looked at the videos abd very impressed. I have done the fit test already but need to run to my neighborhood walmart to buy some more dumb bells or bans.
I am looking forward to starting the p90x, and losing some of this excess WEIGHT!!! I plan on sticking to the nutrition plan as close as I can........without the eggs!! Any ideas on how to overcome that?

Got my shopping out of the way. If you have a store like "WinCo Foods", "FoodMax" etc. in your area you can save a bunch.
If you use the self service area for your almonds, pistashios, soy nuts etc., it is much cheaper. Never have tried soy nuts. Not bad, nice snack, loaded with protein.
I picked up a chub of ground turkey, for turkey burgers, chick breast, lots of veggies fresh & frozen. No fat yogurt, low fat 1% cottage cheese. Fresh eggs & a container of ready to go eggs whites (never tried this before). Planned on doing my own.
Still on the look up for turkey jerky. May try Trader Joes or Whole Foods.
I think I got everything to last a week or longer, including stuff for protein shakes, for well under $100.00.
One less thing to worry about.
Fit Test on Sat.
The "fun" starts on Sunday.
Don't forget to turn your clocks back on Sunday. Happy Halloween to all. Be safe!

Im going to get my wife to do all my measurements so I can post them on Sunday......not looking forward to that but the motivation of others in the same situation and of like mind will push me. I will also post my pre p90x pics.......for total embarrassment. Ha
Good luck to all starting this weekend. It takes a strong person to start on the weekend with the largest candy day ever!! Trick-or-no-treat.

I am Level III, on the Fat Shredder. I tried the Protein Shake today as prescribed. It came out to 4 cups, 32 oz's. I had to add a little extra water as my blender was struggling.
Tasted very good and was very satisfying. For me it counts 2 protein, 1 dairy, 2 fruit.
I am using "Body Fortress" whey protein. (Left over from another attempt to start working out). Very cheap at WalMart and offers 52g's of protein for 2 scoops. Tastes good. I have vanilla.
I found a better one today at Vitamin Shoppe. Will try that once this one is gone.
Trying to get the feel for this.

Did the Fit Test this morning.
My plan for the next 90 days is to do Classic & Fat Shredder (Level III).
Current Weight: 284 lbs.
Body Fat: 27.4%
Resting HR: 70
I am single, no children, retired cop. 51 years old. I drank about a 12 pack of Miller Lite everynight. I figured I'll save about $1,170.00 in the next 90 days just not buying/consuming that nightly 12 pack at around $13.00 each. Already ahead of the game!
Fit Test Results:
Pull ups: 0
Vertical Leap: 7"
Push Ups: 17
Toe Touch: +2.25
Wall Squat:" 1:20
Bicep Curls 22 @ 25lbs.
In & Outs: 26
Jumping Jacks: Competed. Max HR 167-Final 4min. check 120
I would have needed a pallet jack to get my fat ass to do one pull up. I figure my Max. Range for HR (Heart Rate) is 170. Almost did that w/ 2 mins of jumping Jacks. I did push hard the last .30 seconds.
I weighted in at 291 last week just getting ready for the start of P90x & the Fit Test I dropped 6-7 lbs.
I know this is going to work!
Good luck to all!

Hey Gunsski. I just officially started today as well. It would be nice to do the whole 90 days with some other people to stay motivated. I started the lean program yesterday but changed my mind after reading some forum posts, so today was my day 1 for the classic program. Keep posting your progress and I'll try to do the same.

Same here. 2 days down, and feeling great. Plyometrics was hard but not as bad as I feared. I found myself taking a mini break in each set but pushing myself to finish each one hard. By the end, my form was terrible, but I kept pushing.

Great comments & tips.
Plyometrics was very tough for me. But, I liked the workout from a athletic way. 1/2 way through I was ready for the cool down and Tony said here we go again, I crapped my pants.
Was very sore after day 1 & 2. Evem my toenails were hurting. Nutrition Plan going well. Following as close as possible.
I made a food log( more room to write than the log in the book) & put a copy the Level III Portion Approach blocks (pg. 15) @ the bottom. I printed out 90 of these and have it in a binder. I just write down each meal & snack, simply X out each block as it is used/consumed. Pretty simple. I saw right away I needed to throw in more vegatbles. Great filler, not as hungry.
Best to all! Drink lots of water & Keep hitting play!

Hey everyone~!
This is my first post on these forums. I started the P90X Program on Sunday, Novemeber 1st...so I thought I'd jump in on this thread / group, if you don't mind.
So far, I am loving it.
I have a background with working out, etc...but honestly, i'm pretty out-of-shape. Have some weight to lose. My hubby is a bodybuilder, so we already eat very clean, and our entire garage is a gym...so all the tools are there for me already. I moved a TV / DVD set up into the gym, and that's where I'm rockin' P90X.
First workout on Sunday was relatively easy...just from the standpoint that I was familiar with the exercises and was able to complete them all.
Plyometrics last night was REALLY hard. i thought i was OK on my cardio...but the extra weight I'm carrying made the jumping, etc very difficult. I can't wait to see how much better and stronger I am at the end of the 90 days. Last night I could only do each exercise for aboutt 1/2 the time they were doing them...and many of them modified...but i will get better and stronger~!!
Looking forward to tonight's workout (shoulders and arms) as my upper body has always responded well to workouts.
I will post my fit test results and starting stats a bit later.

good to have you Tyggress!!!
Finished day three last night. This day seemed was not as bad as the first two days. Like alot of people out there I have lifted weights before and for me this was not to far off from a normal workout.
Diet is still going well but the temptation from the kids Halloween Bowl keeps looking at me. I would burn it if I knew my wife would not send me outside with the dog to sleep. oh well HAVE TO BE STRONG!!! ha
Goodluck on Yoga today to everyone. By the way plan your day around this exercise, if I remember correctly the CD is over an hour and a half!!

Hi everyone~!
Day 3 went really well for me. I had some obstacles to getting my workout in, but I refused to let it get in the way...so I worked out later than I wanted, but I did it.
I have always loved working out my arms, etc...so I loved this workout.
Looking forward to Yoga tonight.
A tip on Halloween candy: Take the leftovers to the office and let your co-workers have it~! If you have little, little kids...put it somewhere where it's out of your sight so there's no temptation, and the kids have to ask to get a piece...that keeps them from over-eating it as well.
Good luck everyone~! I'll check in again later.
