Modified Doubles, what do you guys think? 4 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 1
Hey guys this is my second week doing p90x and I really love it. the problem is that I feel like I'm hardly getting sore. I don't want to lose too much weight and would like to get more toned/ripped and gain a bit of mass.

Having said that, I don't feel the weight training part is done enough times a week. We only do chest 1x for example and don't do it again for a week. My idea was doing a modified doubles routine. I would follow the Classic like normal except on Thursday morning I would do Chest and Back again and on Saturday I would do Shoulders and Arms. By doing it this way I give that body part 2 day to recover for before doing it again. I'll still be doing everything the same except adding 2 extra days of strength training to the mix.

Here’s an example of what I would be doing:

Monday Chest and Back
Tuesday Plyometrics
Wednesday Shoulders and Arms
Thursday Yoga (Chest and Back Mornings)
Friday Back and Legs
Saturday KenpoX (Shoulders and Arms evenings)
Sunday Rest or StrechX

What do you guys think?

I wouldn't so it. You might actually get weaker. Muscles need time to rebuild. Once a week per body part is still plenty. For chest are you doing all the push-ups on your Yoga day too?
Not sore? Are you working to failure on most excercises on your resistence days? If you were not in agony after week 1 then you didn't "bring it" or you already live your life the super-fit Dreya way.

Stick I felt like I Was "bringing it." I'm drenched in sweat after every workout but I don't get sore like the first day that I could barely move. I get mildly sore and it goes away.

I eat well and haven't had any sweats for months now but don't calorie count. I eat mostly proteins and veggies and I get at least 8 hours of sleep every night.

The Chest and Back workout I did for example was 15 pushups for all except diamond and under the fence, those I only did 10's. I managed to do 10's for all my pullups. By the time I'm done I'm beat and drenched in sweat but by the next day after sleeping I feel fine.

I guess I was just looking to get that same type of soreness from the first day and a little disappointed that I'm not. Thanks for your answer.

Sounds like you're working hard. The soreness of Week 1 is as bad as it gets and will not be present in Week 2 and beyond. I've never heard of anyone missing it until now!. After Week 1 mild-moderate DLMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) is normal.
Have faith in the program (and yourself).

I guess I'm of the mind set no pain no gain. So I want to feel the pain so I can expect the gain. Thanks again for your answers.
