Big... we are so happy to hear from you! You are, like, the originator of the gun club! We missed you, man!

Hey, going home for a family reunion... how many of us can hold back on partaking of some good ole down home cookin'?!?!

That was a bold move to take on Interval X Plus on you "come-back"!

You will be back in the groove in no time at all.

Hey everyone!

I was a bad, bad girl the past few days...Yesterday was my birthday & I've been celebrating since Saturday. I'm pretty sure my friends are trying to fatten me up! haha
I'm back on track today though. I couldn't believe how sluggish I felt after all that junk I put in my body.
Time to go work on my guns

Hi Big, I'm kinda a newbie around here. Most of my family lives down south and I know I could put on 10 pound a week without straining.

Jess Happy Birthday!

Boomer nice airborne push up video. I fear I will never be able to do those unless there is something like wrist replacement surgery. I broke my right wrist lifting weights when I was 20 and never had it set.

RJ, how's the recovery going?

V, it sounds like YOUR recovery is coming along.

Let's see, did Plyo yesterday and was really glad I had B&B today cuz my legs are killing me! Used my new pull up bar today and it is WAY harder than the Bowflex lat pull downs.

I have a real sweet tooth. but I resisted this weekend when my grandson had his second birthday celebration at our house. I just love butter cream frosting. Didn't even taste it, though.

Today I am just drinking my food. I took out the blender and threw in tomatoes, broccoli, apples, cranberry juice and protein powder. It made two quarts! So I will see it I can eat just that today.

Oh, I bought a pair of jeans on Saturday of a size I haven't fit in for five years. Ahhhhhh, they fit! Nice!

Boomer, cool video, you can really see those guns when you're getting airborne. Congrats on completing your first run! I'm sure you will do awesome in the triathlon. Any word yet on exactly how many people were in your age group?

David, good work! Keep it up man, glad to hear about the guns.

jess, happy birthday!!

V, hope you're feeling better.

RJ, pure evil!

Big, looks like we're on the same schedule. I started over this week because I lost focus during the last few weeks.

Happy birthday Jess!
Welcome back, Big! We missed you!
David, the recovery is complete and I am back to bringing it. Still trying to take it easy so I don't re-injure, but I feel good.
Pat, my son was so funny! He is almost 14 and runs track, so I thought that plyo would be great for him. He was huffing and puffing and dripping sweat when we got done. It was GREAT!!!! I outdid him in every exercise! At the beginning, when I could still leave the ground on the run stance moves, my daughter said, "Mama, you look just like a cat!" to which I replied, "Good, that's how I'm supposed to look."
It was tougher overall than it was last time, but that's to be expected, it's been 2 weeks since I did it. Tonight is B&B, and treadmill time. It'll be intervals tonight...

If it is of any consequence... I broke my right wrist twice. Once when I was a kid and the second time in a helicopter crash when I was 18. I also broke my left wrist as a kid (I played really hard when I was young). So I understand the fear.

When landing from the airborne push-ups, you need to immediately collapse your elbows to get back down into the lower push-ups position. If you land with your arms straight, you risk injury.

Thanks!

There were 28 people in my age group. The problem is that many people that are running at this age have been running regularly so they are pretty good. The rest of us waited to late are are just plain nuts.

Obviously I fall in the second category!

Happy B-day, Jess!!

All, thanks for welcoming me back.... Again!!

I brought it pretty good yesterday on Shoulders and Arms. I pushed pretty hard going heavy on my shoulders starting out, which turned out to be a mistake. As I went on, it started popping and making lots of noises, so I backed off the weights quite a bit to finish up. It was still a great workout and I knocked out the regular amount of reps for ARX again. I'm really sore this week.. even more so than the first time I did P90X, so I guess I'm bringing a bit more intensity, which is good!!

Re:Gun Club 4/13 start 10 Months ago Karma: 7
Good morning gunners!
Way to bring it, Big!
I killed myself last night. 2 miles of intervals on the treadmill; started with an easy jog warmup for 1/4 mile at 4.5-4.8, then 30 sec sprints at 9.0 followed by 30 sec rest for the remainder of the 1st mile. The second mile was 1 min sprints at 6.0 followed by 1 min walk breaks at 3.0-3.5. My right shin/ankle was burning as I ran, so I didn't do a recovery jog like I had planned between sprints. I have to watch that leg, when I do plyo, I get that same burning in the arch of my foot.
So, after my treadmill death and dinner, I got back to working out. Cranked out ARX (much easier without the video, I complete all the reps), then B&B. WOW. My arms and back are sore, sore, sore today. So are my quads, not caused by my run. Nope, that soreness is ALL plyo. But do you think my son is going to know about it? Shoot no! He told me while we were doing it that I was going to be sore the next day, to which I said, "Nah, I've done this before." Open mouth, insert foot. I am going to continue to do plyo with him though, as a runner, he needs it. He just did a cross country mile in 8:15, and on the track, his 800 time is around 3:20. Pretty good, IMO. I know I can't run that fast.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! I hope everyone's doing well this week. It's been raining 4 days straight here, it's so gloomy. Yes, it actually rains in Florida, even without a hurricane. I miss the sun!
I did arms yesterday & I feel like I pulled something in my left shoulder blade. I had my fiance massage it, but it's pretty painful. Hopefully the yoga will help it.

Re:Gun Club 4/13 start 9 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 8
RJ... I love your determination and drive!

Ok, accountability time...

P90X: Chest, back and ARX. I did chest, shoulders and triceps earlier in the week. I wanted to do extra work on my chest so today I did C&B. During ARX I added some weighted crunches by holding a weight behind my head. I got a great burn.

Triathlon Training: Swam 1000 yards in the ocean today.

Tomorrow is my rest day... the question is, will I really rest?

Re:Gun Club 4/13 start 9 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 7
Thanks, Boomer!
The evil mommy continued last night....hee hee. My daughter (almost 16) is overweight and really needs to get active. So, being as last night was yoga I thought, why not? I made her do it with me. The child has watched me do yoga in the past, but has never done it before. She tumbled, she stumbled, she was totally un-coordinated, there were some poses she just said no way to (crane and plough), but she got through it. The best part was when I was in plough with one leg in the air and the other dropped down, toe touching the floor, she said, "Dang, momma! How do you do that?" I just smiled and said, "Lots of yoga." My husband came home from school and when I relayed this exchange to him, he said that the kids were finding out that I am in better shape than they thought. I asked my daughter if she thought I was in such good shape and she gave me a look that said, "Hell no, I didn't think you were in that kind of shape." I am LOVING this!!!!
Tonight is L&B, tomorrow is a hike, then Monday hubby and I are going for a trail run.
I'm not losing any weight, still stuck at the same number, but it's either because I'm not eating enough (between 1500-2000 cals) or because of the muscle building. I'm looking good and feeling good so that number can my booty!

Re:Gun Club 4/13 start 9 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 4
Hey all...
I took a rest day on Thursday instead of doing Yoga. I waited to late in the evening and lost motivation to go there. On Yesterday, I felt bad for taking the rest day so I knocked out a double with the Legs, Back, ARX and then Cardio X. I burned almost 1800 calories working out and I felt great doing it all. I'm sore today, but I am about to knock out Kenpo X and then do Kenpo X Plus. I like doing the doubles and I'm really pushing hard this go around so I think I may achieve better results than the first cycle of P90X. I did the measurements, but I didn't take pics for this first round, so I will do that tomorrow and use them as the starting point for this time.

Good to see everyone else pushing hard!!

Accountability time...

Friday: Rest Day - I hate rest day! I am finding it hard not to workout, but I know it is good for me so I force myself to do it.

Saturday: Bike/Run training brick - Biked for my triathlon distance then immediately ran for my triathlon distance. It was hot today so the run was murder.

I got a body fat measurement today. I am at 8.9%. The results are repeatable and rock solid.
