Hey guys.. this is our thread for the 2nd round for the Gun Club team!! All are welcome, but the reason we call it the gun club is because we all added pics of our 'guns' in our profile pic. The team has already done 1 round and we are ready to BRING IT for another round.

Alright, here we go. I'm amped. I have a physical test in the morning but that shouldn't be a problem. Starting tomorrow what routine are you doing, the original or plus dvd?

I'm going to keep the weighted days as the same... but alternate using the Plus on Kenpo and Plyo days. For now, I'm keeping yoga. My Thursday isn't packed like it was, so I will keep yoga there now. Other than that, my only other mods to the program will be staying on the fat shredder until my body tells me otherwise and keeping a food journal the entire time.

How about both! Mixing it up worked out great during phase 3. Now that we are in way better shape, I think it would be great to do the entire 90 days!

Well I just finished the chest and back workout for our journey through a second round of pain. That workout always has me exhausted. I did my Navy physical fitness test and maxed out on the pushups and situps. I havent maxed out on the situps in approx 9 years. Thanks Ab Ripper X!!!

Boomer... you are officially my hero!!! A true Spartan, you are!
Navy, great job on the PT test!!
Pat.. push hard.. we are still here for you!!
I brought it today on the chest and back. I really have to look into getting a bench because I really need more for my chest. The push ups are nice, but not enough to push any real growth. I do get a great pump in my arms and shoulders though. I may start switching it up a bit on chest day and hitting the gym to do a circuit similar to what we do on the P90X, but substituting varied angle bench presses for the push ups.
89 workouts to go fellas!!

BigHurt... it's funny that you said that because I have been looking to you as the gold standard. Those transformation photos of yours are ridiculous!!!
Navy... congrats on bringing it to your PT test.
Pat, I am glad you are with us!
Ok, accountability time...
Run: 6.5 miles (10.5k)
Chest: done
Back: done
Abs: done (mixed ARX and Abs Core Plus)
I worked out in the gym today.
Can't wait until tomorrow!

I brought it on CS&T monday. I could hardly lift my arms over my head last night. I was going to do some bench presses after the workout but my arms were just dead.

Way to go Pat!
Btw, if you want to add bench presses you should either do them before CST or replace push-ups with benches during CST. Benching is demanding if you go heavy. You will be toast after CST.
I have replaced all the push-ups with benches for all the P90X workouts. Oh, except for the airborne plyo push-ups. I do those because it is kind of fun.
Keep them guns locked and loaded!

Thanks for the tips Boomer. I'll try replacing the push-ups with bench next time.
So, when you do the airborne plyo push-ups, can you get airborne? I'm nowhere near that!

Just started yesterday and am sore beyond belief. It was hard getting through the workout. I do quite a bit of cardio (running), but have lost a lot of upper body strength. I am embarrassed to admit, but could only do 6 push-ups and zero pull-ups. Ab ripper basically killed me. I feel very uncoordinated trying to do the oblique exercises at the end. I just need to take it one day at a time.

Jeff dont sweat it, we all started somewhere. It's a competition with yourself, just try to make improvements each session. However....we need a gun pic!!!
Boomer, last week I basically stayed on the program but on the lifting days went to the gym for heavier weights. I'll do that next time on the chest/back day...I like the variety so I'll switch it up every other session.
BigHurt, I like your idea for chest day and I think I'm going to follow suit, maybe even add a weight when doing the pullups.
Pat, good to see you in here and bringing it. I know there is NO WAY I could lift after that workout. My chest is still sore but I do want to add some muscle, that's where lifting relatively heavy weight will come into play.
Well Gun Club keep on Bringing It!!

Don't sweat it Jeff... by the end of the first 90 days, you'll be knocking this stuff out and asking for more. I know that is hard to believe right now, but it will get better as your body transforms before your eyes! All of us have seen it happen, so just keep bringing it and remember to pace yourself in the early days. I wasn't able to complete the ab ripper x until the end of the second phase!!
Today I brought it to Interval X Plus. That is a brutal session and I was worn out by the time it was over... but I love it!! There are minimal breaks and even though the workout is shorter than the P90X ones, I burn nearly the same amount of calories with a much higher heart rate!!
88 workouts to go!!!

The first time I did the workout I didn't go airborne. However, I was curious the next time around so I tried and found that I could. The mind plays tricks on us. Next time around, give it a shot. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I just got done swimming a mile. I will try to do core syn when I get home from work. Since I have bumped up my distances (run, swim, bike), doing the non-resistance workouts are getting challenging!

BigHurt, I did the interval x today as well. That is a hardcore workout! It does get tiring at some points and your right about the minimal breaks. I felt great afterwards and headed to the gym for a half hour jog. This was my payment for "celebrating" after the PRT yesterday.
