Beginner to start Feb 8 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I am new to the forums and wanted to say Hi.

I received my p90x weeks ago but looking to start on Feb 8. I have read alot of everyone's posts but looking for guidance on Lean vs. Classic and the amount of calories I should eat.

First a bit of background...I am 36 year old female and am 5'9. Currently I weigh 223 lbs. I am not new to working out as I have lost over 100 lbs in the last 5 years by eating right and alot of bootcamp type workouts, gym etc. so now I am looking at trying something different. When I read the nutrition part of p90x and was trying to figure out my daily calorie intake I am Level III and should eat 3000 cal. My question is should I eat that much if I choose the Lean program?

Anyways any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Ku

I am not as familiar with the Lean program, but I would eat at the same level unless there are more workouts a week in the lean program. Someone who has done the lean routine personally can probably help you more. I've only done Classic.

Thanks blakjak12. I think I will start with the lean for the 1st 30days and move to the classic.

BTW enjoyed reading your logs, I hope to be as diligent!

Thanks RoonilWazlib...I don't have much to lose...but ALOT of muscle to gain!!

very excited to get started...I've tried a few of the videos. However, I strained a ligament on my ankle late last week, so I am worried about impact exercises. I'll do waht I can...so I can still walk the next day! Let's hope it heals fast!

I'm restarting Week 1 on Feb. 8th. I should be halfway through week 2 then, but I got my period and it really threw me off.

Re:Beginner to start Feb 8 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Well...Day 1 done.

I was pathetic. Push-ups are SOOOOO hard. I couldn't do the Decline Push-ups or the Dive bomber as they were doing them in the video.

I was using the bands instead of the chin-up bar (although I bought one...I can't even do one). I found the bands good.

Ab Ripper was okay...but again there were a couple things I couldn't do. Thank goodness it is short!
I won't be doing Plyo tomorrow. I have damaged a ligament in my ankle...so I'll be doing spinning for cardio. Hope that's ok!

I also started today -- and day 1 is down! I'm doing the Lean routine, and I did Core Synergistics today.

Horrible. I was already tired of pushups, and weird hip things, then this comes along, baha, oh and "engaging" ._.

oh well. day 1 down, 89 days to go!

I started today.. man that is tough. I am 49 years old and have pretty much blown off working out for about 15 years.I am way out of shape so this is going to be brutal. I got two suspect shoulders that I am keeping a close eye on cause that is always my down fall and I am pushing the scale at 250, lets see how it goes.. I will follow along one day behind you guys..

Hey everybody - hope everyone is doing well -

Thought it was gonna be tougher than it was.

My lungs held up, but my legs were jello....

I by no means kept pace with the guys on tv, but id like to think i did descent, probably c+

hopefully each time I can push myself just a little further....

Let me know how your doing

Hi guys just saying hello. Hello.. I'm a few weeks ahead of you and I just wanted to let Kubear know..

Honestly if you want to lose weight you should cut back your calories from what it says you should eat. The numbers they give you are for maintaining and gaining muscle. If you want to lose fat ,which I assume you do, you should try to hit maybe 500-800 calories then your daily caloric required intake..

I am actually like 6'3 214 now. I started the program at 233 and I did between 1500-2000 calories. I wouldn't suggest going this radically as it may have hindered my progress slightly in my muscle building phase. Just since you are doing the lean program gaining a bunch of muscle isn't what you are looking for. So goodluck!

Oh yeah goodluck to the rest of ya .. Can add me on myspace or facebook if ya all want to ask anything. This is my 2nd time through. Going to be my first completion though .

Re:Beginner to start Feb 8 4 Weeks, 1 Day ago Karma: 0
Day 2 plyometics... Think I tweaked a hamstring.. Stopped after 40 min.. I though better to stop than to make it worse...
I wonder how many people try this and stop aftter a few days when they pop a muscle or something..
