Hey, Whats up fellas.
I am planning on starting the program on Nov. 2 as well. My friend let me borrow his p90x so I'm pretty stoked about not having to pay for it.
I think I will be able to stick to the workout plan but the diet might be an issue. I tend to eat a lot of crappy processed food...which is probably why I've turned into kindof a fat guy.
BTW, I'm 25 yrs old, 5'10 and about 200 lbs. I have a good amount of muscle but it is hidden beneath a thick layer of fat.
Also, I am die hard Miami Heat fan...so Arod please try not to rub in your teams superiority

Alright, some basketball fans. Big seasons for both of us Beasy, our teams could be losing their franchise players after this season. I'd love to see Wade come to Cleveland  Yea I hope Dwest gets his head back in the game, we need him.

Just ordered the Recovery Formula. Has anyone tried it yet? Will probably be the only supplement I take. It ain't cheap but I read only good things about it.

Yeah its great to see other bball fans...I just moved to Alabama and college football is the only thing ppl care about here.
X, how much was the recovery formula? I am trying to do this program as inexpensively as possible...so I'm not sure if I'm gonna be doing any supplements.
Also, are you guys gonna use weights or resistance bands. I'm gonna use the bands because I already have them. But I'm a little worried I might not see the same results.

It looks I am going to have to pull with the Wiz. Hopefully Gil's knee is back and we all can be doing our round 2 during the playoffs!!
I think I will use the P90x formula recovery drink. I got suckered in to it when I was buying p90x. Think it was like 20 bucks.
Anybody know about the p90x protein bar? Is it different then others?
I am thinking about going to the vitamin shoppe and looking for the most healthy (high protein/low carb) good taste bar. I also am going to take vitamins every day.
I am going with the bands as well. They seem cheaper then buying a set a dumbells.
I am really worried about the pull up bar I bought from beachbody. I hope it can hold me on my door frame. It really is gonna hurt if it breaks!!!

Agent zero! I was at the cavs wizs game last week. They looked good, I think we might have a cavs wizs matchup in the playoffs.
I think I'm going to do the lowfat chocolate milk as a recovery drink. I also will be using the bands. I'd like to get some dumbells but they are pretty expensive. Plus the bands are easier to stow and travel.
I read the beachbody pull up bars are pretty nice. I got a cheapo off ebay and think I should have just ponied up the extra 20 bones.

Alright so we got a good mix of teams here. It was weird not playing the Wiz in the playoffs last year. I'm sure they'll be back if Arenas is healthy. What's the word on Jamison? Is he still injured?
Damn I got ripped off. I payed $40 for the recovery formula.
I read some mixed reviews on the protein bar. They said the protein and fat content was different than what was advertised. And at 2 bucks a pop they seem pricey.
I bought some 10, 15, 20 and 25lbs free weights. But let me know how the bands work out for you guys. I might need to get some if I have to travel for work in the next 3 months. The thought of one snapping and taking out an eye was just too much to overcome though, so I got the free weights.

My resistance bands arrived yesterday from beachbody. I tried the 20lb one out... these are going to be some extreme workouts. The resistance bands are 20, 30, and 40lbs. Are these the ones you guys got?

Count me in! I also plan on starting in November and I could use the motivation of a group effort to get me through the 90 days. I'm 18 I weigh 157 pounds and I'm ready to shed some fat and gain some muscle!

Arod - How much were the bands? I've seen some bands at a few stores but I'm not sure if they are the same weight resistance as those from P90X.

Hey guys,
I see that you guys were lookin into the bands because freeweights are pretty expensive these days. I don't know what they are charging for the bands but some of the exercises look a little uncomfortable for the joints with the bands. This is strictly a visual observation from the workout dvds. I was lucky enough to look on craigs list and found a broke grad student whose books were getting more use than his hexagons. I bought the following off of him for $120-$140 (8's, 10's, 15's, 20's, 25's, 30's, 35's, and 50's). Some second time around sports have decent used weights but they are still charging a pretty ridiculous amount. I purchased a cheap set of 3.3's and 5's from the one closest to me. I would suggest looking in the nearby areas and see if you might be able to score a fairly cheap set on craigs list or maybe your local newspaper online. The workouts go extremely fast so switching the bands could be a pain.

I'm more of a baseball fan! Basketball isn't my thing haha. But I will be using the bands. I find they are cheaper and easier to carry around.

I got the bodylastics bands set...Its 5 bands and they were $60. I kinda wish I just had gotten the set Arod got.
Standy, the Wizards have to be the most frustrating team in the league right? So much talent yet they can never get out of the first round.

I will also be starting up Nov. 2. I did the first 30 days awhile back, then got really sick and couldn't work out for a week and never got started back up. This time around I'm making some changes. I'll be logging what I eat on fitday.com and I got a heart rate monitor so I can make sure I'm really working. I'm 41, 6'1", 230lb, and about 29% bf according to my scale. I lost 50 lbs training for a marathon a couple years ago then put it all back on. I can't wait to get it back off.
My 2 cents on bands vs. dumbbells. My first time around I started with bands then quickly went out and got some dumbbells. For me the dumbbells are more comfortable to use, give me a greater range of motion, and give me a better workout. I bought two 25lb weider adjustable sets from Sears for $140. Great investment in my opinion. The only problem with them is that after my first 30 days I was really thinking I needed to go out and get some 35lb and 50lb sets.

I'll start on the second with you. I'm 5' 7 and weigh 250, I use to be in shape but since I graduated and stopped wrestling I gained like 60 pounds. I'm very excited to start i bought a copy off eBay brand new and unopened it shipped yesterday so once it gets here I'll give an update. I'm really excited to start.

Beasey - It's gonna be all about Agent Zero. He will make or break this team.
Anyway...I am going with the bands. I am use to free weights but already have the bands. Yeah...they are uncomfortable but after a little seasoning, I think I will like them.
Has anyone did any practice runs with the workouts??? I havent had time since it is nice out and I am trying to get all the golf out of me before the cold comes.
I have been indulging in some unhealthy food this week because I know I will have to be super strict come November. Might as well get it all out of me now.
I have been worried about drinking on the weekends during my p90x. Hopefully Vodka Club Sodas won't hurt my nutrition plans!!!
Just got my pull up bar up and can only do about 2 full ones by myself. 240 lbs is alot of weight!! LOL.
