I don't think incorporating cardio into your workout will be beneficial at this point. I think it will just wear you down and prevent you from completing your P90X workout.
As for day 2, all I can say is "thank God it's over!!!" I too am doing my workout in the morning. It's better for me to get up at 4am and knock it out before the rest of my family wakes up. My upper body is really sore right now. It hurts to even lift my arms or stretch them out. My hams are already starting to feel a little tight too. Plyo is no joke!!! I was sweating like a pig too. I look forward to day 3...

I'd say just stick with the program so you can always BRING IT! and be patient for the results. I'm sure they call the first phase Fat Shredder for a reason.
Good luck!

What is everyone eating to fill their protein portions for the day? It's the only category I'm having trouble keeping up with. Right now, I'm eating egg whites, tuna and chicken.
Also, on days when I go to boxing I'm adding a protein shake for some extra calories.

I too am having trouble filling in my portions.
I am short on veggies and dairy. I also am short on calories 1500/2000, when it says I need 3k.
I hope this is Ok. I just can't eat that much.
Ive been eating Protein Bars, Shakes, Egg Whites, Chicken, Pork Chops and I plan to add some Tuna. I am not sure how much Mayo I should use. I plan on using Lite Mayo.

I did the Plyo yesterday evening while my body was soaring.... and today its worse ! I had trouble to put my shirt this morning! to drive to the office to !
I really hope the soar will go down... Just thinking of today's day 3 exercise make me nervous.
But I will bring IT !
I laso have trouble to complete my portion plan, and I am not sure about my protein bar :
It's a "Zero Impact" High Protein Mealbar 3.5oz(Peanut butter and Jelly) which contains 390 calories !!! (150 from fat) and 30g of Protein.... ISN'T THAT TOO MUCH ?? what's the properties of your protein bar ?

I've been drinking low sodium V8 to finish my 4th veg portion. It tastes terrible but 3 big gulps and it's gone. 16oz of 2% milk would fill 2 of your dairy portions and add a few more calories.
Looks like I'll have to pony up and by some protein bars. Also, I haven't been putting mayo in my tuna but again it would probably help you increase your calories for the day.

Hello everyone, I started the P90X Lean this past Monday the 2nd of Nov. I did the P90X classic a couple of years ago and was able to get through the first 40 days, but excuses got in the way, I was able to see some great improvements in all aspects of my work outs but I didn't eat like I should have and if I would have finished it, I probably would have been more cut, but hey, I'm here and I want to make it happen this time around. Glad I found this forum, I can really use the advice and motivation. Like I said, i started Lean because I want to drop some weight and tone up. I think I have good size muscle wise, I just need to tone it up and get some good flexibility. I officiate high school and college basketball, so I want to be in the best shape I can be. The season starts in Dec in South Carolina, so I plan on continuing to do the X as well. Look forward to corresponding with you all.

Hey, enjoying reading the posts, but something changed and suddenly everyone's posts are being sent to my e-mail address.
Anyone know how to stop that?
I like reading the posts on the site, just don't need them all in my inbox.
BTW, ARX this morning was TOUGH. Amazingly, I think I actually saw some improvement since Monday though.
Thanks.

Standy, the light Mayo made with olive oil is pretty good. 2 TBsp is 45g Cal, 4g Fat, 2 Carb. Not bad at all and 2 TBsp is enough for 1 sandwich.
I've also been drinking the low sodium V8 to help with the veggies. I even add a little pepper and hot sauce to it to make it a virgin bloody mary Celery with lowfat PB is a good veggie too.
For Dairy I've been using skim milk, yogurt, feta cheese on my salads, mozzarella string cheese, and lowfat cottage cheese.

Yea. I have been drinking one of those 5.5oz cans of v8 everyday. I usually have a salad v8 and lean meat for dinner.
It looks like I have trouble filling in carbs. Just by ignoring my carb portion, I still cant get to 50protein/30carb/20fat. I find my self in the 40-35-25 range. If I eat a slice a bread or something, I will probably be at more carbs than protein. Carbs are starting to frustrate me. I am mostly getting it from my P90x Recovery Drink (most of it), Milk, v8 and fruit (bananas have about 12g). Should I still be eating that portion of carb???

I forgot about Feta. Gonna need to buy that and celery for week 2.
I made have to indulge on some real v8 bloodys on the weekends and leave extra room for calories....is that bad...haha.

I hate yoga, it is so slow. And I discovered I have no balance what so ever. It's amazing I can even walk in a straight line with my poor balance. I did manage to bounce into crane and hold it for a couple seconds a few times. Could have been luck and gravity.

I'm also doing Yoga tonight, needed the extra sleep this morning.
Still feeling the soreness from Plyometrics. The recovery formula doesn't seem to be doing it's job.

 xgonnagiveit2ya,
You have to keep the recovery drink in perspective, its mainly used to help you stop from crashing after doing the work outs, especially Plyo. I didn't buy the beachbody recovery drink, because I'm retired Air Force, we have a GNC on the base and I buy the Endorox recovery drink. It has the same 4 to 1 Carb/Protein ratio and helps me stop from crashing. I'm doing the Lean edition and I had shoulders and Arms last night and that dreaded Ab Ripper X right afterwards. Since we are just getting started our bodies haven't adjusted to the exercises and the soreness will subside as we keep doing the routines. I couldn't keep up with the AB ripper, but as my Core gets stronger, I will be able to complete all the reps. I also take some supplements as well:
GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Chocolate
- I'm going to use this on my resistance days, (dumbbells, bands, pushups)
GNC Triflex Sport for mobility and joint flexibility
N.O. Xplode - for my pre-workout drink
Endorux - Recovery drink for post workout and I sip on it during my workout.
Good luck
Lip

Yoga was tough! The first 45 minutes anyway. Those repeated upward downward dogs were torture, as was just keeping my arms up that long. It was good, though, felt good at the end.
I couldn't do the thing where you balance on two hands. I stayed up on my toes.
Also couldn't do that total plow move towards the end; thought I'd hurt my neck.
It was good exercise, though.
And not nearly as sore today.
I'm definitely getting into the routine of the morning workout.
