Can anybody suggest a good brand for a heart rate monitor? I bought one from wal mart for $30 but it only gives me the reading about 60% of the time?
Not sure if it's a POS or if that's normal.

Tried the yoga yesterday just to see what it was like. Did about half of it. I'm not very flexible so it was pretty difficult. Hell of a workout!

gosh you guys are awesome you haven't even started but yet you are all here supporting each other. Makes me want to join ya on the 2nd. I'm finishing up my phase 3 and if I can do it ya sure can do it!!!! Good luck to you all. I'll be lurking lol!

My P90X FINALLY came in the mail after 2 weeks brand new and unopened just as described  I read the guide and I did the fitness test and while I did pass everything except for pull ups ( i did 1 ) I didnt pass it with "flying colors" like tony says to , But anyways I just wanted update everyone and say I'm really excited for November 2nd to get here!

I'm back in town.
Unfortunately, I still havent got to do any practice sessions.
I plan on doing my final grocery shop on Sunday since I will be out of town for the weekend. I also will take the fit test and pictures Sunday Night.
Monday, P90x will start and I will be blogging to keep myself motivated.
So nice to have such a big group going at once!!!!

Thanks for the link, I might actually order that. I was about ready to smash the one I have now the other day. Damn thing just wouldn't give me my HR.

Hey Team!
I just finished my "fit test." I passed everything except the pull ups...couldn't do any at all. But, I'm still encouraged because I know that will change after 90 days. Although my "before" pics are not pleasing to the eye, I'm also encouraged by those as well because of the changes that I know will come. I should get my supplements this weekend and will do my last minute grocery shopping for my meals and then I'll be ready to rock and roll on Monday.
I'm so excited....

Hey guys,
A friend and I are planning on starting the 2nd as well. Have everything all ready to go, just need to build the pull up bars in the basement.
Some stats: 6'0" - 220lbs. - don't have my body fat percentage (might be a good thing). Play hockey twice a week, have been inconsistent with lifting/hitting the gym lately. Consider myself in alright shape, just wanted to kick it up and thought P90X would be the best way.
Looking forward to joining you guys on here for next few months, and seeing how everyone progressing!
PS - I have Bruins season tickets, so I'm going to join you in feeling the pain of not being able to drink and eat at the games...

I got my supplements today. That was fast!!! I just ordered them on Tuesday. I like the service so far. I bought a heart rate monitor, Yoga mat and Yoga blocks today. I also made my grocery list today and will go shopping tomorrow for everything. I plan to use the "meal plan" format for simplicity sake. I have 3 kids and a spouse, so, simplicity is what I need to get thru this. How do we find out just how many people are in the Nov 2nd group??? Anybody know????

I went ahead and started today as day one of lean, then im going to do classic and then doubles im sure I was thinking and its the best for my schedule so I did haha, Im still going to be sticking with all of you guys though and supporting everyone here I hope everyon will stick with me as well,

Alright guys!!!
Tomorrow we all start. I just went to the grocery store and loaded up on healthy food. I tried to make a protein shake tonight.
1 Scoop of Whey
Couple Berries (Blue and Rass)
Half of Banana
Cup of Skim Milk
Some water
Next time I will do ice instead of water to get the full smoothie taste.
I didnt get a chance to do the fit test tonight, so I will do it tomorrow night...I shouldnt be that soar from the morning workout. Anyway, I don't think the fit test is that big of the deal. I just need to measure day 1.
I am excited. Look forward to hearing about all of your day 1s.

Just an update I'm on day 3 day 4 to tomorrow all has been well, I decided to do lean for 90 the first two days were core synergistics which is an awesome workout then day 2 was cardio which I really really liked haha it gets you sweating for sure now my day 3 wasnt so hot it was chest and back and an ripper x . I had an okay workout bu I just struggled doing all the pushups and weird stomach exercises, I'm excited though I'm just goin to start doing pushups everyday now to get back Into doing them and the rest will follow with some hard work I hope so far in the 3 days I've lost 4 lbs. Just an update for everyone I can't wait to see how everyonesday one goes Tomorrow good luck everyone

Also, very excited to get started tomorrow. Gonna loose some sleep thinking about it.
If anyone else is doing the workouts in the morning make sure you plan enough time to also do AbRipperX 3 times a week.
Made enough food earlier tonight to last me through Tuesday. Also I planned out all my meals for tomorrow and I'm surprised by how much food it takes to fill the requirements. It seems like more food than I used to eat but probably a lot less (and better) calories.
Well good luck to everyone. Not sure how many are in the group anymore but I hope we all make it.

Wow, that was tough. Was completely exhausted by the end of Ab Ripper. Couldn't even finish the leg climbs.
How did you guys do?
First time trying the recovery formula. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't say it was delicious.

Man!! I am going to have to agree with you.
I did pretty good with the pushups. Probably 10-15 reps each.
The pull ups I had to be assisted by a chair. Pretty embarrassing.
During Ab Ripper, I couldnt do 80 percent of the exercises. I hope I improve. I mostly just laid there like a dead animal
My whole body is shaking and I got the biggest headache right now BUT I am ready for tomorrow.

Well we did our healthy shopping yesterday. Got a lot of good food. I'm thinking this diet won't be too bad. Had a huge omlette (3/4 cup of egg beaters) with 1 portion of mushrooms and one turkey sausage link (surprisingly good) for breakfast. Had a handful of Almonds for the morning snack. Looking forward to chest & back this afternoon. I skipped the fit-test, I put up the pull-up bar and did 8 pull-ups so I think I'll be fine. The wife couldn't do any though. We did take our measurements and our before pictures yesterday too. I'm using http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/users/myplate/ which was recommended by another member to track what I eat. Shows your percentages and everything.

Great forum, thanks for starting.
Started this morning at 6. It was a butt kicker.
I could do a few pullups at first, then had to use the chair.
Pushups were OK (10-20) until the second round of diamonds, where I think I completed 3 maybe.
C&B was easy compared to ARX, though.
There were a few exercises I couldn't even do (thinking here of the one where you had to straighten your leg above you (not the leg climb, the other one). Felt like I had a backpack full of lead strapped to me.
I drank a lot of water during C&B which I think hurt me in the ARX, though I don't think that's avoidable.
For breakfast I had the recovery drink and a bowl full of greek lowfat yogurt with a banana, then a bar. I don't think I could have stomached that eggwhite omlette.
I'm keeping at it though. Thanks for starting this board. Will be here till the bitter, awesome end in January.

Yes I am starting today, I have given p90x a shot a few months ago any quite 2 months into it, every time i see the infomercial i feel like a failure. But this time I am gonna stick with it, and I sure will need all of your help to stay motivated!!!
