I'm going to be starting at the beginning of January (bought it as a Christmas gift for my husband and I'm going to use it too), and as I was glancing through the fitness guide, I noticed 3 different workouts. Classic, Doubles and Lean. Do I just pick one and use that particular plan based on what I want to accomplish, or do one after another? Like 90 days of Classic, 90 of Doubles and then 90 of Lean.

the are levels of intensity. Lean is slightly easier than classic, and doubles are the hardest. on the "how to bring it" video, It is explained.

The Three options are for you to choose from. Classic has a balance of resistance training, Cardio and flexability. Lean is more cardio and flexability and Doubles is the same as Classic with an extra cardio workout during added during the second and third phases of the program.

Most of us are doing the Classic version. But it is for you to decide. I finished my first 90 days last week and I have started my second round this past Monday. P90X can be tailored to what you want to do.
I think that it is why so many people do so well with this program.

Enjoy your Christmas

Ken

By the way it is also a good idea to scan through all of the workouts prior to starting. Maybe even try a couple sessions to get the feel of what is to come.

Thanks so much. I haven't watched any of the videos yet as I can't bring it home without hubby seeing it. I want to get as much info as I can before I start so I'm not completely blown away.

Based on what you said in another post, I think you might want to do Classic, you are not that far from your goal. If you're a Jillian Michaels fan (like me!), you're probably not afraid of weights either. I am very happy with my results so far with Classic. Of course, Doubles will get you to drop more fat faster, but be careful you don't overdo it.

Veerukka, you're right, I'm definitely not afraid of weights. I love them, in fact. You can't do anything related to Jillian Michaels and not love lifting...lol. I want to tone up and lose my "pregnancy pouch" that has been stubbornly clinging to my lower abs for the past 13 years.

Sounds like you are a perfect candidate for making it through the 90 days! It really helps to be realistic about what you can achieve in that time, so if you don't get all the way to bikini shape by March (your 90 days), you still have time to do another round to improve even more. If you follow the program, I can't see how you wouldn't be down at least 1 size. Of course, you could get to a 4 by March too, you never know how well any individual will react to this program.

I am finally rid of that little tummy pooch, but still could drop the last little bit of extra there, not sure if I'll make it by next Wednesday (90 day picture day). That is one of the reasons I'm starting my round 2 right away.

I hear you on the skinny but unfit issue. I remember in college being 121, but of course no muscle either. Ew. I used to be a gym rat before kids and love this program because it's like a gym workout but at home. Plus I love Tony and the other people in the workouts, and I'm not getting bored. I feel like these videos will always be a challenge, because you can increase the difficulty if need be.

I'm looking forward to following your progress, don't forget to create a log for yourself when you start!
