Confusing as it may be, doing nothing is actually worse for sore muscles than working them out again.

You may have to kick the reps/weight back a little bit since they are sore, but stretching them and using them will help them recover faster. (This is assuming muscle fatigue soreness from starting the program, not actual joint problems or other issues.)

I know for me when I started, I couldn't even put my shirt on without goin "oooh, eeeep, aaaah" My elbows and shoulder were killing me. However the thing that made them feel the best was working them out. Soon as they got warmed up, all the pain was gone. About an hour after the workout, the stiffness and pain returned.

Unless of course you haven't actually started the program and are just doing some of the workouts to get used to them, then by all means disregard me!

I dove in a little too fast and over did it a little. The pain I was referring to was a bad joint pain in my elbows. I didnt want to do another upper body workout knowing i couldn't extend my arm fully without screaming. I dist the regular ice and advil treatment and feel better. I did day 3 last night and feel the way I think I should. I am having trouble lifting my arms and climbing stairs but I know this feeling as muscle pain, not joint pain, but i appreciate any and all advice. Thanks!

hi all

i finished day 2's workout a few hours ago

i do have the soreness that you speak of but it's not so bad in terms of putting t-shirts on

i have done some weight training in the last month which may have helped reduce some of the soreness, but what soreness i am experiencing would be down to doing the new exercises, making body parts work like they are not used to.

how is it going otherwise?

Stiffness and soreness will come, but like the other poster said, doing nothing is bad news. Throw in Cardio X later in the day and just do some of it, don't try to hang with it if your not in the shape you need to be, but it will at least get your body moving and working the stiffness out. Are you drinking any recovery drinks or proteins or anything? GET SOME!!
