The common misconception is that "lean is better for losing weight because of cardio."
Don't worry, it wasn't a target at you vshortt because I have seen it so many times on here before you became a member.
There are several reasons to do Lean, but in my opinion, the only one that is relavent is: If you can't handle Classic, Lean is an option.
The reasononing is this...
Classic mixes cardio with muscle training. While cardio burns more fat than muscle work does, a body that has more muscle in it will burn more fat than one with less muscle in it. That statement can be sort of confusing. The point is, you need to do both for fast fat burning. Think of your muscles as a multiplier in the fat burning equation. The more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn for doing the same action. Muscles take more calories to "operate" than fat does.
So Joe-bob sits on the couch and weights 215 lbs with a Bodyfat of 40%. If he sad there the entire day, he may burn something like 1000 calories just by being alive. Breathing, eating, goin to the bathroom.
Jim-bob sits on the couch and weighs 215 lbs with a bodyfat of 6%. If he sat there the entire day, he might burn something like 1500 calories just by being alive.
Get the idea?
So while Lean may be easier on you, if you can handle classic, there is no reason you shouldn't do it. If you don't want to bulk up with bigger muscles? Do more reps with lighter weights.
Only problem I could see you run into would be plyo. Being that heavy could pose as a problem for jumping around. Your knees might not like it too much. Until you lose some of the weight and are more nimble, you may have to substitue in Cardio X. Thats the only change I would make to the Classic program.
