Question before starting... 4 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hello all. I just got my kit, havnt read through it all yet, but I have a question..

I wont be starting until at least next weekend because I have to get my equip. Can/should I start with the cardio/plyo stuff until then? And if so which?

A little background...
I am a 25 year old male. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 290 lbs. I played football in high school and never got over 230. As you can see I have gained 60 lbs while in college and after college in my 2 1/2 years of being married. I have always known I needed to get in better shape, but just didnt have a lot of motivation. Now we are planning on starting a family and a light bulb went on...I need to be healthier so I will be around for the family I plan to start. Cant wait to get started!

So where to start before I get my equipment and dive in head first?

Thanks
Matt

Hello,

This may help.

Link: http://tinyurl.com/y9xrjm6

I just started, but I took a week and worked on things from the "Fit Test". Read the "Fitness Guide" & "Nutrition Plan" many times and often.

There are lots of good tips on this Board & You Tube.

Best of luck.

I did X-Stretch, Kenpo, Yoga, and Plyo (every other day, maybe every 3rd day) before I started. I wanted to get the soreness out of my system. It had been a really long time since I had worked out regularly and I knew my body was going to be in pain so I took it easy before I officially started. You'll still be sore once you start, but it'll be a heck of a lot better.

That's also a good time to start the Nutrition Plan. It gives you time to get used to it and get rid of all the crap in your house.

It was rough to start the Nutrition Plan, but once I got the hang of it (and the cravings for coke and chocolate subsided) I was great. That's why i started it before i officially started the fitness program.

Hope this helps
