hi, im 16 and very skinny with little muscle. most likely because im so active. i run or play intense soccer almost every day so i pretty much just burn everything i eat and stay scawny. Ive been wanting to try p90x but have a couple questions:
- it seems most people are concerned with LOSING weight with this program. i definately dont want that. will I actually gain just muscle with this?
-also i noticed that alot of the exercises seemed to be aimed towards cardio, and plyos and even YOGA. im already very fit and starting early august i will be playing varsty soccer Two times a day. is there any way i can skip through the program and just do say abs, chest arms (core/upper body)?
- im really just concerned with putting on mass, and not really losing weight or getting in shape. Does this sound like the right program for me, or is there something better out there?
-thank you

First off, you need to estimate how many calories you're burning in a day, then figure out how many calories you want to consume based on that number. That will truly make the difference as to whether you gain weight or not.

About half of the P90X exercises are more cardio-based. If you're super active with soccer and things like that, I would say you could just replace Kenpo-X. I play soccer once a week as well, and usually do that in place of Kenpo. I would imagine that if you asked Tony what you can replace and what you can't, he would say that you definitely need to do Yoga.

As for Plyometrics, I would also do that one. Yes it is cardio, but it is a great leg workout as well, and should really benefit your soccer skills.

if mass is your main concern, i would honestly suggest looking to a different program, since you say you're already pretty fit. Not to say you can't gain mass on P90X, many have, but if that is your PRIMARY goal...its hard. a lot of tweaking and scrutinizing of your diet will need to happen.
