This is NOT some miracle product. P90X takes extremely hard work. No one can expect to do Phase 1 & be in the absolute best shape of their lives. I keep reading about people who are in the first phase or just starting the second phase & are surprised they haven't lost more. If you watch the commercial for P90X, most of the people who had amazing results were already somewhat athletic. I don't think any of them were overweight. You might have to do more than 90 days (I sure do!). This needs to be a lifestyle change & you might not have instant results. But as they say, keep pushing play!

Well said. I know several people who have bought p90x and did it for a couple of weeks and then gave up either because they were sore (duh!) or they hadn't lost 20lbs already. I was in good shape when I started it (I had already lost the weight and had been working out for a year). It was tough for me. So if you are a couch potato carrying extra weight it is really going to be tough at first.
One of the most common things I find is people follow the workouts without the diet. They continue to eat crap thinking.."I am exercising so that sort of negates the 1500 calories a day I drink in soda or sweet tea"
The tag line of DECIDE...decide to make the change
COMMIT...commit to do it all
SUCCEED...you will. It may take an year to a year and half to get that ripped body. Your body didn't suddenly overnight become what it is now. So logic says it won't become what you want it to overnight either.

Ladies...our bodies are different..we tend to hold the fat compared to men. It will take longer for us to achieve the results we want. I am sitting here with 16% bodyfat and I still don't have the six pack I want. But I will.

I've just finished week 1, and I feel really encouraged. I've apparently lost 3 pounds so far, my shorts feel a little bit looser already, and I think I've lost some fat, though I haven't measured.

I'm not following the diet plan to a T, as I have almost 0 time for cooking and preparing meals (luckily my wife doesn't work right now, and cooks pretty healthy food for the most part), but a few things have really helped me.

1. Extra protein. I bought some whey isolate and take that after workouts and sometimes at breakfast.
2. Cut down the carbs. You obviously shouldn't eliminate them, but I'm cutting out all the junky stuff that my co-workers try to feed me, like cupcakes, doughnuts, candy, etc.
3. DON'T EAT LATE. this used to be a killer for me. I'd snack on stuff just before bed. Now I go to bed pretty hungry, but it's not that bad. I think I've been really good about this, and is probably the single biggest change I've made in my diet.
4. Water, water, water. And more water.

Don't get discouraged. It is tough, very tough, and I'm a big fattie (5'8", 238 pounds). The soreness was killer the first 4 days or so, but after I started taking in the protein shakes, it hasn't been that bad at all, and I feel soo good.

Yeah, I know for me I have already noticed a lot of things since I started the program. I am at the same point Def is and just finished day 7.

My weight hasn't changed much. I think it may have changed 1-2lbs but its hard to tell because you can lose/gain that much just depending on what time of day you weigh yourself.

However, the biggest things I have noticed is my waist dropped 2" already, my weaker arm started to show a bit more bulge to it, and I just overall have a LOT more energy in the average day.

Just after these 7 days, I feel my money has been well used. I feel better about myself, I seem to be getting in better shape by lowering my bodyfat %, AND ITS ONLY 7 DAYS IN.

I can't wait for more.
