HI EVERYONE! I AM SO STOKED NOW THAT I HAVE STARTED!

I AM 26 YEARS OLD, 5'9, AND WEIGH 165LBS...I AM A PRETTY SKINNY DUDE, BUT THE WEIGHT I DO HAVE IS IN MY GUT. I AM BASICALLY LOOKING TO SLIM UP, GET TONED, AND BULK, BULK UP. I AM TAKING THE RECOVERY DRINK AND AN OCCASIONAL PROTEIN SHAKE WITH THE PROGRAM.

QUESTIONS:

I AM TOO SMALL! HOW SHOULD I APPLY THIS TO THE P90X PROGRAM TO GET IT TO WORK THE WAY I WANT IT TOO?

I HAVE SEEN PLENTY OF BEFORE/AFTER PHOTOS ON YOUTUBE, AND IT LOOKS LIKE MOST FOLKS LOSE ALOT OF WEIGHT. WHILE I DO WANT TO LOSE MY GUT, I WANT TO GET BIGGER EVERYWHERE ELSE, ESPECIALLY UPPER BODY. NOT BODY BUILDER BIG OR ANYTHING, BUT BIGGER THAN I AM NOW. I AM BASICALLY LOOKING FOR A PHYSIQUE LIKE THE DUDE WHO PLAYS DEXTER ON SHOWTIME OR BRAD PITT'S TYLER DURDAN CHARACTER ON FIGHT CLUB. LOL. BUT SERIOUSLY...

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A SMALL DUDE, AND WHILE I AM IN DECENT SHAPE DUE TO MY RECENT AIR FORCE EXPERIENCE. I CAN'T DO TOO MANY PULL-UPS OR CHIN-UPS..KINDA WORRIES ME.

SOME ADVISE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS!

BTW, IS IT OK TO DO LEG WORK EVEN IF MUSCLES ARE STILL SORE FROM A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE?

STOP YELLING!

hah congrats on getting P90X, I am sure you will get the results you are looking for with hard work.

I think for someone like you the program will work with slight modifications to your diet and how you train. Do the workouts with high weights reaching failure at like 8-10 reps. Your diet should be CLEAN but you can eat more calories than people trying to lose weight. Make sure that you eat protein and lots of it along with plenty of complex carbs. You will see huge muscle gains, eat plenty (CLEAN), and your abs will be worked out like you wouldnt believe with Ab Ripper. Skinny guys like you can get great gains by gaining a few pounds of muscle, good luck!

It's honestly going to be difficult gaining a lot of mass and losing a lot of fat at the same time. If you lose fat though, your muscles will be more defined which may cause you to look bigger and more buff too.

Follow the nutrition guide as best as possible, and work hard. Your legs probably will be sore for the first week or two, but once you get warmed up, the soreness should go away. If it's still prevalent or not going away after a few weeks, then you may have a problem or injury.

cut first then a clean bulk IMO...Ive cut about 18lbs since I started (have 2 weeks left). AFter I finish this set Im restarting with a "Clean Bulk" in mind. Basically increasing my Calories and moving to a 50/50/20 diet.

I like the way you think Jameson. You are one of the few who understands it takes a bulk to put on serious muscle.
