TOPIC: My 1st Day Experience.

ITA, the first day is hard for almost everyone! I had a very difficult time finishing that day, too...it just about destroyed me for the rest of the day. It "will" get a little easier..LOL Just get ready...for pure soreness...next week..you'll feel a whole lot better about your level of intensity..and what "you" can and cannot do..how far to push yourself..and so forth.

You may want to consider Lean for your 1st go round. Then Classic next time.

Suggestion only.

1. If you want optimum results, I would finish every workout. The fact that you stopped on the first day is not good.

2. If you want to lose weight, do the lean version.

i disagree- with both points. a lot of people (and i'm willing to say 50%) cannot make it through day 1. i know i couldnt. it doesnt mean that you wont get optimum results. what does Tony repeatedly say in the vids? "DO YOUR BEST AND FORGET THE REST"

and Classic would be the quickest way to shed weight and change your body composition. see this link:

go to #2 where it says: "What version should i do?"

Jake- so i would move to classic. Finish this week off following the Lean schedule, as like a warm up, then move over to Classic next week. You need both resistance and cardio work in order to lose weight. if you put on more muscle, that means you're burning more calories throughout the day. but as Pauly mentioned, make sure your nutrition is in order. remember,

Working out = fitness
Nutrition = weight loss

I don't think the lean program should even exist. Just from experience on this forum and another, people are dropping more weight doing classic. I believe lean is less of a workout. My best friend dropped 50lbs in 90 days doing Classic. Of course his nutrition was excellent the entire 90 (strict).

Hi Jake.

Did you take and pass the fit test? If you can not pass the test, I HIGHLY recommend you do Power 90 first. Do plyometrics tonight and you will see what Im talking about.

I dont want to sound like im coming down on you because im not. I just think that P90X is XTREME. Its not a beginners workout.

I totally disagree with Jkscott12 and agree with Ben. I couldn't pass all of the fit test either and couldn't finish plyometrics for about 4 weeks. Now, I'm halfway through week 10 and finishing every workout. Just try your best (as they say) and listen to your body. Take Pauly's advice about nutrition...it IS key.

So I'm starting today as well, and a question for the folks here.. Is it suggested to (1) push yourself to the limit out of the gate, even if you run out of gas 1/2 way through in these first few days/weeks or (2) reduce the exertion/reps/etc to complete the full workout, increasing your level of effort as you get more fit?
