TOPIC: Missed workouts on Recovery Week. What to do?

Missed workouts on Recovery Week. What to do? 1 year, 3 months ago #69163

Hey guys,

So I am on Phase I recovery week and I have already missed my workouts for the last three days. I had absolutely no time in the world to do them (working from 7.30am-11.30pm, i hate it) and so I was wondering if I should repeat recovery week next week or go on to Phase II? Thanks!

You could do either one. Personally, working 16 hours is enough of a workout in and of itself, so the choice is yours. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably finish up recovery week, fit in 2 workouts in a day if possible, and move onto Phase 2.

Well that means I have to fit 5 workouts in two days. I guess I can skip X stretch and do Kenpo and Core Synergistics on Saturday and Kenpo and Yoga on Sunday.

Btw I stand at work for 16 hours and work at a machine. I dont do any lifting or anything that gives me a workout. I simply put a piece in a machine and take it out 30 seconds later. No real workout there.

You may just be standing there at work, but it takes a bigger toll on your body than you think. If you can't fit in all the workouts you missed, don't sweat it. Do what you can and move on.

Don't sweat it. Things will come up in your life. Obviously you want to do everything you can to get your workout in (which is why I like to get my workouts done first thing in the morning), but when you miss a day quickly make a decision on how you are going to handle it and move on.

Here are a few options to choose from:

1) Simply push your workout schedule back by the number of days missed. This is ideal because you'll still get in your 90 workouts.

2) Try and make-up the days. This works only if you miss one workout. Just make sure you get the required rest/stretch day in there and give major muscle groups 48hrs to repair.

3) Skip the missed days and move on. Pick-up whatever workout is scheduled for today and get going again.

Hmm,

So is it advisable to go with what runningjunkie said and do 2 workout today? Or just do my regular Kenpo today and instead of doing X Stretch tomorrow, I do Core Synergistics.
